For one soldier, the prospect of meeting royalty was obviously too overwhelming.
The royal guard fell flat on his face after fainting at the arrival ceremony of a gala dinner hosted by the Danish queen.
The soldier had been in a line-up awaiting the arrival of Princess Mary and politicians at the Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen last night when he keeled over.

He was dragged to his feet by security officials who carried him off before the guests arrived.
Queen Margrethe and Prince Consort Henrik were hosting their annual party last night for members of the Danish Parliament, and the soldier was part of the evening's honour guard.
