Clear and Consise Communication
This past week Rush Limbaugh, after the SOTU reiterated what I was taught and what I teach my daughter; "Words have meaning". Everytime Rush says that I jump for joy thinking fondly of my parents and praying it sinks in to the millions of listeners to his show. Some if not many people miss the point of that statement sadly, thinking ; well, of course words have definition.
Single word definition alone is not what is meant here. Placing words together in a sentence be it verbal or printed they take on "meaning".
The reason of my concern here is that liberals (at least the leadership) know eaxctly what I speak of and utilize sweeping generalities attempting to fool an unsuspecting populus. We on the right must avoid sweeping generalities and be very clear and concise as to our use of the English language when warning of the lefts policies , our goals and even communicating with each other so as not to be divisive within our side of the debate.
Recently I was described as being both "rigid" and "exclusive". These to adjectives to those who know me personnally may be both true and false at the same time. I give this example to simply clarify the point.
By the "rigid" part, I am assuming (which I do not like to do) this person meant I was a Conservative idealogue, if so then that is true and I am more than pleased to agree. But outside of that context (politics) it is completely false. How can I, a man who is happily married and be "rigid" at the same time? Sounds like divorce after 5 minutes of the nuptuals! So, both true and false.
Well of course being happily married rules out the "exclusivity" part as well for much the same reason. If I were in fact "exclusive", then why marry at all? Being married is by institution and practice is to be "inclusive". Then again, since I am married I suppose my wife is "exclusive" to me as I am "exclusive" to her. You see, both true and false at the same time again.
Words have meaning as does the context with which one utilizes, choose them wisely and not in sweeping generalities. In doing so, we also avoid misrepesentation and needless debate.
If anyone wishes to call me a Conservative then by all means do so, a waste of time though considering the title of this blog and my stances published within. Ponder this though, does anyone believe the writing of The Declaration of Independance , The Bill of Rights or the U.S. Constitution was an act of "rigidity" or that of "exclusivity"?
Those documents and their meaning are exactly what a Conservative lives by and defends, period. This is not "rigid" except maybe on the contraints (or did?) it places on the federal goverment and are also very "inclusive" so as to cover any and all citizens of our nation.
Humor
This subject goes right to the old saying; "One mans junk is another man's treasure". There is not one of us that has told a joke or relayed a story what we thought to be funny just to be lost on the recipient and thus producing no laughter.
The lack of laughter or appreciation of the humor is not a statement on the person delivering the joke/story, but rather the listener quite simply not seeing the humor in it.
If Johnny Carson took offense (publically) every time he did not get a laugh we would not know of his name to this day.
Some Saturday Night Music
This selection goes right to to the Gal I married and who has improved my life immensely ever since, I Love ya Boo and Thank You!

Who wrote this?
Jay, you had already plagerized that piece on another post ? Get original already.
Yes, I wrote it.
If you welcome all perspectives then why did you erase my post? Did it hit too close to home you liar? I have found more then just a few plagerized posts. I just turned you in to the owners of two of your posts.
Jay, You had already plagurized that piece on a previous post. I have not been notified of plagurizing myself, but thanks for the heads-up.
BWAAAAHAHAHAHAA The progressive calling you a plagerist by plagurizing. That is the best one yet. These progressives are better then watching trained monkeys. They throw crap but they always get some on them when they do it. Thanks Christopher for having my back. Isn't it great having kids. By teaching them we learn so much.
Hi Chris, this is a super post, your wife and children are very lucky to have you. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Rush is wonderful, did you see the video of his "letter to obama"? That vid is awesome, he really lets bammy have it! Teresa posted it, and I have on my youtube. PS: I put the link to the post you were looking for in my comment to you on my blog.
Excellent post Christopher. I never mind being called inclusive or rigid- for the same reasons you posted here, and because neither of those things are a bad thing when you think.
Love that song by Rascal Flats! I think it describes my own life with my husband! :-) God Bless and I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
Hello Bunni, Really, I believe I am the lucky one but Thank you just the same.
Yep. And I heard him recite it twice on Friday. Scathing. El Rushbo never ceases to amaze!
Keep trying to get Chicago Right!!!!!!
Hiya Carolyn, Happy you see what I mean. Rascal is awesome, some of his songs seem to rip words right from ones heart and put then in song!
God Bless you aa well and when you stop to think, all days are wonderful when one wakes up breathing!
Chris, Yea, that plagurize thing? I guess libs stick to their word against free speech and thought for that matter.
Sir, I will always back-up Conservatives! Like I commented on your blog and basically the reason behind this one, any and all differences on the right come down to terminology and that is no big deal so long as we all use English properly.
Kids are Gods' greatest gift to humanity, they do refresh our responsibility EVERYDAY.
Dear Sir,
May I be rigidly plagurizing for a brief moment in the grand scheme of things?
Purt near all my thoughts and spoken words are a function of what I have absorbed from others, who have gone before me.
I rest my case on a thought that frames, quite well, the dissent here noted.
Ecclesiastes, KJV 1: 9-10
9: The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: AND THERE IS NO NEW THING UNDER THE SUN.
10: Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? It hath been already of old time, which was before us.
Just my unoriginal thoughts that support your efforts.
Later.
Jadedfellow,
Thank you for giving proper identification of the work (Ecclesiastes, KJV 1: 9-10).
In doing so it is no longer plagurization but attribution and I dare say complimentary to the original author.
Jay-Nay staggered into my place a few days ago and said Intellectual Ammo was a "dumb blog."
I told her that I took no offense, as this is a thinking person's blog and it's not for everybody.
She needs to put down the hopium pipe...
Jay, No foul language allowed. If you wish to comment, keep it clean.
Jay, what part of no racism did you not understand?
She is out of control. I thing this says something about the progressives. I have noticed a major push by the progressives after Mass. I think they are in a death roll. I think they may get violent if they don't get their way. I know that a big part of their movement is to shut down or scare away the Tea Parties. The Blue Dogs are starting to show up at them and that will leave the progressives all alone trying to control gov't.
