Former advisor to President Clinton Doug Schoen argues taxing the rich with be a political downfall for Democrats on the Fox Business Network with Stewart Varney.
The title quote comes at the end but I love the line Doug delivers when Stewart Varney states to Doug: "You are a democrat" to which Doug responds; "No, I am a rational man Stewart" (@ the 1:20 mark)

I heard Dick Morris say yesterday that there are races no one is following, that are just assumed they will go with Dems that are very tight, and it's possible those 20 seats could also go to Reps, which could make it about 70 seat to swing in to the R column
Hey Mark,
Yes, the MSM does not want that news out as the dem strategy is to keep all races local so as not to concentrate on National issues which all the dems are tied.
For a good example see Reaganite Republican latest; Viva La Revolucion: DUMP Steny Hoyer NOW
argues taxing the rich with be a political downfall for Democrats? More like suicide! Congress has done everything in its power to hurt the people and can't understand why threre not loved. I'm hopefull they will wake up around 2017or the year after the Lions win the superbowl two years in a row.
I like that "No, I am a rational man, Stewart" line. Heehee.
You can't be rational and a democrat.
Well, I hope the majority of these folks are Conservatives. Tea Party or otherwise.
By that time it will be too late George. Do not be faint of heart, we WILL take both chambers of congress in little over a month from now.
This is not to say to sit on our laurels but rather keep fighting to make it the largest politcal earthquake EVER!
p.s., The Lions will never get to the Super Bowl in my lifetime.
Got me too Inno, spilled coffee all over the keyboard,,lol
Kid, There are two ways one could take that line, but in the context of the coversation Schoen chose not to be pigeon-holed into the opposite of rational- a democrat.
Gad! I've liked Schoen since he did become so rational and FAIR, but his predictions for Nov make me LOVE the guy! :)
Thanks for coming by......nice to find your blog.
Hi Z,
i agree and vise/versa. :)
I dunno, Christopher. The Lion's current woes were not always so. I was a Lion's fan only 15 years ago or so when they went 15-1, back when Barry Sanders was unstoppable, their offense was far and away the best in the NFL and Wayne Fontz seemed like a genius.
True, they lost their first playoff game, but this kind of stuff is circular: look at Oakland, they suck, too. But they had glory years as well, and will again. Green Bay, ditto. My beloved Bears (the only perfect team in the NFC currently), also ditto.
You'll see. In the fullness of time, the Lions will be hoisting the Vince Lombardy trophy and their long suffering (you, for one) fans will be rewarded. It just doesn't seem possible today, but owners have heart attacks, get cancer and die - you just have to look on the bright side of things!
Fredd,
A couple of points here; I am well aware of the Lions record and as such have never lost a bet (to date) when betting AGAINST them. That stated, you must realize I am NOT a fan of the team,,,ever.
Those out of the way, you hit on the exact reason why they continue to disappoint - THE OWNER. It may give real Lions fans (all two of them) some hope in what you state, but the team will still be owned by a Ford family member.
Nuff said.
