Sarah Palin, What Will She Do Next?

Gov. Sarah Palin has done one helluva a job getting conservatives elected in the recent mid-term cycle and no one can say any different although they might try to.

There is much talk of her running in 2012 which I would say is very understandable but I also believe it is not a good idea. Now before you vilify me let me state my case.

Conservatives, Republicans and Libertarians have seen flawed candidates PUT forth in front of us that simply we did not want, Bob Dole and John McCain ring a bell? Now remember these were people we did not like to begin with yet with the GOP and MSM were propping them up and then the latter to tear them down and we got socialism.

This brings me back to Gov. Palin. Now CP respects Palin to the highest degree, but that is limited (as of right now) to what she does best and that is to get out the vote. Sarah Palin has the uncanny ability to get people to their feet and get conservative candidates elected and that is exactly what this country needs.

The MSM has already torn her down, unfairly I agree, but unfortunately that leaves her and us at a disadvantage being she has been vilified now for over two years.

What next for Gov. Palin?

Michael Steeles' term as Chairman of the GOP is about to expire, I say he be replaced by Sarah Palin.

Is it not the job of the Chairman to get conservatives elected? Yes. So if Sarah has been doing that all along and better than the current Chair would this not be a natural?

Sarah Palin has done all the heavy lifting (along with Sen. Jim DeMint) so why not give her a post she is most suited to and is proven?

The only way for the U.S. to get back on our proper footing is with pure, unadulterated conservatism which this Nation was founded upon. The way to achieve that is to get conservatives elected. Who better to do that than Sarah Palin.

Can I be extremely blunt here? Shit, of course I can and will;  We do not need a cheerleader as POTUS, we need an American president and Palin is most suited to deliver that as of now acting as Chairman of the GOP.

Look, I love all that Sarah barracuda stands for but her talents are limited to a point. That point as of right now is getting conservatives elected. She has no coattails, so she is better serving the greater cause she embarked on and I believe all know what I mean by now.

In order to be RNC chair she would need to live in DC.  I doubt that she is willing to uproot her family for that job.

I totally agree, she will not and cannot win as a presidental candidate.  But she will never take the RNC chair position.

CG   You underestimate Sarah? She is a natural and has been by traveing all across the Nation basicaly doing the job I propose?

I ASK YOU THEN WHO BETTER TO REPLACE THE INCOMPETNCE OF STEELE?

Dan,,,You make a point about Obama being challenged from within his own party and I agree that will happen. We saw that with Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter and the result was Ronald Reagan.

Such a scenario bodes well for a conservative no matter who they are at this point.

I also take your point on Gov. Palin teaching the beltway folks a thing or two which goes straight to what I posted about, thank you for that contribution as it is valid.

All of us have been working to change the GOP to get it back to it's root's, why not culminate this work right at the top!

I agree with you.  She would make an excellent GOP chairman.  She knows how to fundraise, and she has the executive skills

Silver,,,Good point on the fund raising. To that point I believe Gov. Palin would also be better at allocating those funds.

It is of my humble opinion that the GOP did not take the Senate this time around due to Steele's lack of leadership and holding back support for qualified candidates and that support includes money. Like it or not, lip service alone does not get people elected and Palin knows just how and where to direct funding for campaigns.

Christopher, I agree with much of what you've said. I'm not so sure about taking Steele's place. I think the 'party' fossils would buck her. I would love to see her continue as she is for now. I hope she takes her time, and I'd rather she not run in 2012 - but maybe later.

Maggie,,,The party fossils is exactly what we need to shed and an excellent start would be Palin as the Chair.

With the GOP being infused with likes of Allen West, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie and many others we have real conservative momentum and the way to keep it going is the same thinking at the top.

I think Palin should at least run for the post as that would show all of us just where the party stands and if in fact they are listening to us.

p.s., Your new site looks great!

The lefties sure are fixated on her.  I like her role right now, 'drawing enemy fire' while the new Congress gets seated.  I agree that she isn't our best candidate for 2012 - but looking at the rest of the "frontrunners" I'm not sure which would be any better.  Somebody needs to step up.

My wife also agrees with you about Sarah,  Christoper.  She has been bashed, berated and maligned by every leftist that has come down the pike for the last two years; the damage is done.

I still like her, and will vote for her in the primaries and in the general.  I think she CAN win.  Time will tell, eh Christoper?

Won't slam you on the Christopher, understandable.
Reagan was thought much of either at first, but then WOW. ;)

Well Inno,,, Palin would be able to draw even more fire and money for that matter as Chair of the GOP. Take a look to the upper left column on this page and you will see exactly who I believe should step-up.

Fredd,,, Please do not misunderstand, I like her as well but what she is doing for conservatives is way more important right now and into 2012.

If she did in fact run for POTHUS though in 2012 and got the nomination I would support her 100%!

Mark,,, In no disrespect to Palin or you but I myself see no comparison at all between her and Reagan except maybe they were battling the same types as in party elitists in their respective times.

The difference is Reagan's detractors were basically limited to party insiders and not the general populace at large as is and unfortunately the opposite is true with Palin.

Palin is a household name across the Nation and some would say that is an advantage in such an election but we all know that that name is not spoken kindly of in allot of those households.

I am not saying she could not pull it off, but should we risk another 4 years of Obama let alone reversing our gains in congress?

What I was referring to was frame of mind for country. And she was governor of a large state, he was also. She speaks of the ills of liberals, he also. He crisscrossed American in support of conservatives, she does the same. Etc, etc, etc. This might not be her time, someday it will, thats all.

Mark,,,Understood.

One thing is for sure, the very mention of her name stirs passion and conversation about the direction of this Nation so no matter what role she plays that is a good sign!
