Irish Rant - An Irishman Speaks His Mind!

Folks, I shamelessly borrow the following video from Jim McMahon-Chicago .

Most are aware of the absolute financial mess in the Republic of Ireland but the man in this video lays it out plainly in one of the best rants I have heard in quite some time.

Please, if you choose to view this, stick with it 'til the end as it is hilarious at that point.

One man's view, but I'll bet it's a lot deeper than that ... Unfunded penion funds like the rest of Europe to name a few. Nanny State ???? :-P :-P :-P

Yes Odie, but at the same time Ireland had a booming economy unlike the rest of Europe for quite some time and that was before the recession. Then came the EU?????

Trestin,,In the Republic I would imagine quite a few. In Northern Ireland I imagine quite the opposite.

Mark,,, Quite honestly I do not know what to say here?

Although If your ex-inlaws were of Irish heritage and responded like what you describe I can only guess they were of the Lace Curtain Clan.

And neither should any of us!

I've had a few conversations likre that with Irishmen. One compared the dinner party chat of recent years with that of loadsamoney England in the 1980's, obsessed with mortgages, colateral &etc all built on cheap credit. Another chap I met was an English property lawyer who regularly flew to Irleland to adjudicate in planning permission disputes. Their own system had become so corrupt that Ireland was reduced to hiring officials from abroad, even from the old 'enemy' England.

Irelands boom was the result of EU largesse but only while it was a relatively poor region, with the accession of Bulgaria and Romania it became a relativley average region and the funding dried up, as did the boom.

Agreed Banned which is all the more reason to leave countries to their own devices so that all may rise and fall on their own without a chance of a bailout on others.

The EU, UN, WTO, World Bank, all of these corrupt "world" shit has to go!

All Nations must go back to sinking or floating on their own!

Everything you state Banned is exactly how the entire world took a shit and my belief it was by design and years in the making and consequently worked like a charm.

About the only thing good to come of this 'economy' is that it woke-up people around the globe to what some of us had been screaming from the hilltops for sometime now.

The reason's the USA has to be hopeful is that not only are we the largest in the Western world but we are also the youngest, freest, politically active and might add bordered by two countries;

Canada-1st world who depends on not only on our commerce but also our military might, We in turn gladly do commerce with them, oil being the top commodity.

And then of course,,,

Mexico- 3rd world who is nothing but a huge fucking headache be it drugs, illegals coming here, crime in general and a so corrupted government for eons that it reaches right to the cartels.

No, no North American Union on any sense of balance could ever be achieved.
