100% NRA Endorsed GOP candidate shooting machine guns in ad

"AZ Congressional candidate, Pamela Gorman, is the tough real conservative we need... and a pretty fair shot."

This is a fun video put together by some volunteers. If you want information about me or my candidacy for U.S. Congress in Arizona's 3rd district, you can find it at my website. www.Gorman2010.com.

As much fun as this video is, you should know that I am very serious about the future of America. I do hope you will take a closer look at my work record in public policy and my conservative positions on key issues.

If not, I hope you at least enjoyed the video these fine folks put together and will share it with others!

Compare and Contrast, A Sign From Above

Here's your sign !

Athens, Greece - June 2010

A sign of things to come,,,,,,

Washington D.C., USA - November 2010
Judgement Day!!!!!!!

"Rise Up" from "The Tea Party Movie" - Jeremy Hoop

"I regard myself as a soldier...a soldier of peace." - Ghandi

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. They are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. That among these are life, liberty...the pursuit of happiness." - The Declaration of Independence

I regard myself as a soldier...a soldier of peace.

Rise up, Rise up, Rise up

Lookin' at millions under a circus tent
Watchin' a jackass chase a dumb pachyderm     Oh what a show!

Tappin' on any shoulder that I can find
Of anyone on there who might change their mind    It's time to go.

To the real world outside with those pirate ships
The drunken sailors with dirty lips     That rule the night

Shoutin' don't be afraid of those wicked men
There's more of us than there are of them      Come join the fight!

Rise up and be counted

Take your part in the solution
Linking arm in arm, to arms, to arms

Lower your guns and raise your voices
Join the peaceful revolution

Shout I'm mad as hell
and I will ring the bell of freedom

Ride with me from Boston to Phili to LA
With reason come marching
With knowledge come drumming
Let everyone hear you
Each soul that is near you
The British are coming! the British are coming!

We built a house of sticks a hall of parlor tricks
But we blame it all on our politics    Oh what a shame!

Truth is the cancer ain't just in the head
Half the body's nearly dead     We're all to blame

Time to pledge no more standing on one thin leg
Lack of principle's a powder-keg      And we can't wait

If we just say what we mean mean what we say
Take back the power we gave away

It's not too late - Grab your tea and follow me

Rise up and be counted

Take your part in the solution
Linking arm in arm with words as arms
Lower your guns and raise your voices
Join the peaceful revolution

Have you an ear to hear, an eye that sees us
We come in the Spirit of Martin, of Ghandi, of Jesus
Holding fast to the words with the power that frees us

Rise up. Make your choices

Choose the peaceful revolution
Sell what you have to sell so the devil can tell
Then let them raise their hell
And we will ring the bell of freedom     The bell of freedom     The bell of freedom

Bill Clinton: Blow up the well (And More) / Open Thread

This is something else. Please give it a listen.

I am no fan of Slick Willy nor do I appreciate ANY former president remarking on a current one but if one listens intently as one has to when Slick Willy speaks, it is very revealing.

Pope: Belgian sex abuse raids deplorable

Pope: Belgian sex abuse raids deplorable

By NICOLE WINFIELD

VATICAN CITY (AP) - The pope on Sunday called the raids carried out by Belgian police investigating priestly sex abuse "deplorable" and asserted the right of the Catholic Church to investigate abuse alongside civil law enforcement authorities.

Really? Does the Pontiff not find the actions of the perpetrators "deplorable" in of themselves?

The right of the Catholic Church? Those rights end at the Vatican City limits.

I care more for the victims and could not give one damn as to the 'Church'.

Are these the words of Christs' vicar? Yes and No.

Yes as the 'church' proclaims it and NO being that Jesus Himself has not proclaimed it or even ordained as such but rather Popes are elected by other male humans in robes seeking the same position.

Note to Benedict, stop impeding justice and clean house. Your actions or lack of them do not represent Christ the Lord but dare say the polar opposite.

A Belated Thank You !

But in the interest of full disclosure (this is a one-time deal) here it is,,,,

Liberal Women - The Epitamy of Liberal Denial and a Danger to Society

One has to wonder whether they be male or female as to where the 'feminists' are or the NOW crowd is as of late?

We see attacks on women, well conservative women that is, constantly be it Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Nikki Haley, Carly Fiorina and Sharron Angle just to name a few yet no, zip, nadda response from groups formed in defense and furtherment of all women?

The problem here is exaserbated as exampled in a recent post by Eleanor Clift regarding the recent allegations directed at Al Gore by a female massuese.

Now granted these allegations are yet unproven, however it is the tone and wording in Clifts' post that should raise concern as I believe it represents a clear and present danger, to women. I will qualify that last statement of mine; If the left, especially women on the left believe or better said think as Clift does then where does that leave any sense of security or justice for women here or anywhere ?

I cite some excerpts from Clifts post:

My colleague Bonnie Goldstein in e-mail today commented she finds it "unimaginable that Al Gore, the former senator from Tennessee and erstwhile next president of the US, attacked a red-haired hotel health spa worker he hired to give him a therapeutic massage while in Oregon on a business trip."
Why is it so 'unimaginable'?  Has Clift or her friend ever heard of Bill Clinton who was POTUS?  Oh, and what of the Kennedy clan?

Beyond that though, many, many, millions in fact thought it 'unimaginable' for Catholic priests to do harm yet we all know how that turned out. The left we know consistently and dutifully perform the double-standard line but in this they present a clear and present danger to women by protecting male predators from even an allegation of impropriety.

Clift shows a sense of dismissal of the allegations and of loyalty to Gore in this:

The masseuse's civil lawsuit is likely going nowhere, but it turns Gore back into a joke, a cruel fate for a man who had worked so hard to get beyond the ridicule heaped on him during the 2000 campaign.

"Cruel fate'? If the allegations are proven true as opposed to Clifts dismissal of them, well then who was cruel to begin with - Gore and whatever fate befalls him so be it.
As to the ridicule, once again only Gore can be blamed and this is real history not allegations, can you say "hanging chads"?
Whatever ridicule Gore received he deserved it as he embarrassed himself and an entire nation known as the U.S.A. that is based on free and fair elections and try as he might could not change that or the 2000 outcome.
Fast forward to 'Global Warming' and Gore knowingly promoting false data to support his ponzi scheme of carbon credits I say again, any and all ridicule he receives is well deserved.

These situations be they fate or destiny Gore finds himself in are that of his own making, he made his bed and he can lie in it.

Then there was this that actually prompted me to this post:

I doubt Gore's alleged late-blooming sexual aggression will manifest itself with a tally comparable to Tiger Woods, but one Enquirer account mentioned there were others.
'Late-blooming sexual aggression'?  Think about that description a moment, better yet say it out loud for full effect. Personally I find that line not only bizarre but extremely chilling.

Now think of Clifts reference to Tiger Woods and his exploits with women.

Is that jealousy I hear of from Clift for not being with an adulterer and a subliminal chiding of Gore for not being as 'good' as Tiger yet holding out hope he just might be?

Does Eleanor Clift sound like a real woman, one who actually cares about women or does it sound as though women on the left are in massive denial let alone with their words and thought putting women in danger?

Women under report rape and sexual harassment crimes right now and with Clift and her ilk it can only serve to make a bad situation worse in that it telegraphs to women not to report such deviant crimes. In turn this enables the sexual predators to act on their propensities on a larger scale forever damaging the lives of even more women.

No Eleanor, we cannot and should not dismiss such allegations when brought forward but we can and must dismiss you out of hand.

$1-Billion in Security Buys a Post-Apocalyptic Toronto - G20

By Don Martin June 25, 2010

From the 346-metre-high observation deck of the CN Tower, which replicates the only view of this city helicoptering G20 leaders will see when they land in downtown Toronto, the summit host has the look of a metropolis hit by a killer plague.

The weekday fixture of jammed streets have been reduced to a scintilla of pre-dawn traffic volumes, eerie stretches of open pavement broken only by the flashing lights of motorcycle cops ushering black SUVs in dress rehearsals for the handover of the Huntsville G8 to the Toronto G20 tomorrow.

The railyards have been cleared except for occasional GO Trains snaking into the core carrying a fraction of regular passenger volumes.

And Lake Ontario, curiously devoid of boats, beckons as a real backdrop for reporters who are already weary of the notorious Fake Lake which is so shallow my plan to launch an inflatable lounge chair had to be scuttled. Unless you weigh less than 100 lbs, which I clearly don’t, you’ll be instantly grounded on the bottom.

This is what a billion-dollar security net buys you. Canada’s largest city as a post-apocalyptic movie set. Massive worker inconvenience. Horrific productivity losses. Legions of bored cops on overtime. And a tourist scare-off that makes SARS look like a Halloween prank.

Everywhere in a city core swept clean of garbage collection bins and newspaper boxes, a fence runs through it.

The notorious barricade has gaps too small even for a child’s fingers to grasp and that makes it impossible to scale although, protesters take note, at three metres high it’s only half the world pole vault record so there’s at least one way to leap over it into the waiting hands of riot police.

Speaking of police, they already gather in jawdropping numbers as omnipresent clusters at every intersection or wander aimlessly as enforcement groups around buildings and down streets, wearing bulletproof vests with helmets dangling from their belts and earpieces connected to voices of undetermined origin.

It’s not hard to see tens of millions of security dollars being squandered, er, spent to ensure world leaders’ safety. This would be the worst place on the planet to rob a bank, if any of them were actually open in the core.

Speaking of iffy investments, and this will be my last reference to the idiotic Fake Lake, I wish every taxpayer could see their dollars at work on this mindless tourism promotion venture.

Complete with 30 Muskoka chairs, 42 dangling canoes and an actual artist on the deck, it’s just the most visible display of public money being put to questionable use. There’s the 4D Ontario experience theatre, a video game centre and a stack of bargain-bin books piled into the shape of a nuclear reactor funnel which, at a distance, allegedly forms the image of a tree.

But, in a perverted way, Toronto is currently a visitor’s delight and a pinch-me moment for commuters as they free flow through what are usually three-light intersections.

In the far corner of a deserted wing of the Union Station, which usually handles about 200,000 GO Train and Via Rail passengers per day, Alan Rhodes was shuffling brochures to pass time while staffing an underutilized Travellers’ Aid booth.

”It’s Guantanamo Bay out there,” the mild-mannered senior fumed. “It’s like somebody asked Mr. Harper ‘what is the worst place and the worst time to place a summit?’ This is it. It makes no sense.”

A tour bus operator could only shrug when asked about the potential for business today. With the waterfront and major tourist attraction off limits starting today “I guess we’ll go north, although I’m not sure tourists want to see a shopping centre,” she said.

But visitors braving the summit-shutdown core, a once-in-a lifetime view of Toronto beckons from from the CN Tower today. Glance straight down through the glass bottom deck and you’ll see a city asphixiated by a security blanket.

Ironically, given this summit was supposed to generate tourism, that viewing experience became off-limits last night at midnight. The CN Tower is closed until Monday as a potential G20 security threat. By the time it reopens, Toronto should be back to its chaotic normal self.

WorldNetDaily

The Obama administration has announced its appointment of 13 White House fellows – and the first person featured on its short list is a Muslim attorney who specializes in Shariah-compliant transactions.

"This year's White House fellows are comprised of some of the best and brightest leaders in our country," Michelle Obama said in the June 22 announcement. "I applaud their unyielding commitment to public service and dedication to serving their community."

White House fellows spend a year as full-time, paid assistants to senior White House staff, the vice president, Cabinet secretaries and senior administration officials.

Samar Ali of Waverly, Tenn., is the first name appearing on the White House list. She is an associate with the law firm Hogan Lovells – a firm that claims to have advised on more than 200 Islamic finance transactions with an aggregate deal value in excess of $40 billion. ,,,,,

"I will always be Arab and I will always be American and I will always be Muslim," she said.

I don't know about you but I am first self-described as an American, the rest is neither here nor there as that alone defines me quite well thank you and furthermore is a definite statement as to exactly where and to what my loyalties lie. Contrast that to the quote above and you may get the point.

This regime is going to all lengths within and outside of it's scope of power to destroy this nation at every level, it must be stopped!

If the video above does not tell you what their goal is, then you are a dead person walking.

WAKE-UP, STAND-UP, TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS.

As of the moment and within current law our only legal opportunity to put the brakes on this coup de'tat is to take control of congress come November if we can make it to that point.

Stay vigilant, stand tall, spread the word, pray and above all VOTE THE SOCIALISTS OUT!

Border War Continues in Arizona and Texas

First, an interview with Sheriff Paul Babeu of Pinal County, Arizona on the Fox Business Network about the government's response to Mexican drug cartels.

And now onto Texas, which seems to be forgotten as of late on the very same issue.
The following is just as I recieved it as a forwarded email,,,,,,,,,

Subject: War in Texas
This was sent to me from a friend in Michigan who received the attached letter from her nephew in Texas...amazing...what is goin on with our government?
Judy

Date: Sunday, June 20, 2010, 9:38 AM

I thought you might be interested in reading and seeing for yourselves what is really happening on our Southern Border - be sure to scroll down and look at the pictures after my nephew's letter.

Hey Mary Ellen,

If you ever need to know the truth about the border just send me an email, I only live 15 miles from it. Our government & media aren't telling you even 1% of what is happening down here! So far in the last 3 months over 37 people have been murdered in Reynosa , Mex by the drug cartels.

Many of my Mexico customers will not even see American Salesmen because of the kidnappings. McAllen, Texas where I live has had the kidnapping rate rise by 400% so far this year (37 Kidnappings). The Mexican Military is now giving the drug cartels escort service across the border to help protect the coyotes that bring in the drugs.

We are at war down here & the President wants to sue Arizona rather than do his job and protect our country. It has gotten so bad here that up until a year ago we had no guns in my house other than an antique shot gun from the 1800's but, now we have at least 5 rifles & shotguns, a few 1000 rounds of ammo as well as an alarm system on the house and video servailance to go with it.

One thing that has people down here concerned as well is that SEIU offices are popping up everywhere as well as Acorn offices which is very strange in Texas because we are a right to work state & most unions stay clear because they cannot get a foot hold here. Most of them are moving in from out of state and are trying to organize the Illegal Mexican population but, what they are being organized for nobody knows.

Talk to Ya'll later
Chris

These are the pictures attached and are related back to the battle along the Arizona/Mexico border,,,

This seizure was five days ago. Located on the Arizona/Mexico border! Thank God for the border patrol that this did not come over the border.

There is one "graphic picture" but it tells the story.

Let's quit trying to decide who is violating our federal laws "to make a better life" - and ENFORCE the laws across the board on EVERYONE violating them - Nothing discriminatory about that amigos !!!!!!!

That way we won't have to lament or wonder just how many of the illegal aliens legalized (synonymous with rewarded) under the latest attempt to legislate away the millions who have spit on our laws - are MS-13, Zetas, cartel members, and other scum that would be "legal".

There are MANY Hispanic men and women that I both love and respect that understand and support Arizona and any citizen's desire to keep our country a safe place to live and raise our children and grandchildren.

I hope we can ignore and recognize the majority of the naysayers for the photo-op, attention-loving clowns they are - and start coming together as AMERICANS that want what's best for AMERICA !!!

I took the liberty of reserching the patch/logo pictured above in the seizure and it is not good to say the least, it belongs to Los Zetas aka The Company.

From Wikipedia

Los Zetas is a criminal organization in Mexico dedicated mostly to international illegal drug trade and other organized crime activitites.

This drug cartel was founded by an elite force of assassins from Mexican Army deserters and is now integrated by corrupt ex-federal, state, and local police officers, as well as ex-Kaibiles from Guatemala.

This group of highly trained gunmen was first hired as a private mercenary army for Mexico's Gulf Cartel. Since the arrest of the Gulf Cartel's leader, Osiel Cárdenas Guillen, as well as other events, the two entities became a combined trafficking force, with the Zetas taking a more active leadership role in drug trafficking.

Since February 2010 Los Zetas have gone independent and became enemies of its former employer/partner, the Gulf Cartel.

Los Zetas are led by Heriberto "El Lazca" Lazcano and are considered by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as probably being the most violent paramilitary enforcement group in Mexico, capturing tourists from the U.S and holding them for ransom.,,,,,,,,

Your Stimulus at Work; Inmates Get Homebuyer Tax Credits: Gov't Report

Nearly 1,300 prison inmates wrongly received more than $9 million in tax credits for homebuyers despite being locked up when they claimed they bought a home, a government investigator reported Wednesday.

The investigator said 241 of the inmates were serving life sentences.

In all, more than 14,100 taxpayers wrongly received at least $26.7 million in tax credits that were meant to boost the nation's slumping housing markets, said the report by J. Russell George, the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration.

Some taxpayers received the credit for homes purchased before the tax break was started. In other cases, multiple taxpayers improperly used the same home to claim multiple credits. Investigators found one home that was used by 67 taxpayers to claim credits.

"This is very troubling," George said. "Congress created and modified the homebuyer credit to stimulate the economy and help taxpayers achieve the American dream, not to line the pockets of wrongdoers." ,,,,,

,,,Investigators also found 87 IRS employees who may have improperly claimed the credit, though the review was ongoing.

America Unhappy With Health Care? Hugh Hewitt on Fox News

This is a tad dated (2 weeks) but if you bear with me you will get to the part I wish to share.

This segment of Fox News I did see when it aired originally and what Mr. Hewitt says in the body of this interview with Megyn Kelly spells out what has been happening since besides health care as it pertains to the White House staff and most recently the military brass if you are an attentive listener.

Hugh Hewitt is one of many I listen to on the radio and appreciate his intellect and honesty. This interview focuses on the health care debate which is important but also speaks to a larger point on Hussein, Pelosi et al.

If you just fast forward past the Wicked Witch of the East (Pelosi) to the 2:41 mark you will get the interview sooner and will be more bearable.

And hey, I am a fan of Megyn as well, if I ever needed an attorney I would like a fighter like her on my side!

If You Live Green, Why Not Die Green?

I am sure we all know of the promises of a 'green economy' and are very skeptical with good reason, but after reading this article I know as a wannabe savvy investor I have to get in on the ground floor (pun intended) of at least one of these companies. Just what will they think of next????

(Teaser here)

To those familiar with the 1973 cult classic movie Soylent Green,
this maybe the beginning of life imitating art.

Bangladesh Bigamist’s Friends to Decide Faith as ‘Wives’ Fight Over Corpse

Published June 21, 2010 / NewsCore

A Bangladeshi court summoned friends of a dead man in an effort to end a six-month wrangle over his corpse by his two wives -- one of whom is Hindu, the other Muslim, police said Monday.

When Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty, alias Sazzad Hossain, 42, a vice-principal at a Dhaka college, was stabbed to death by muggers last December his secret double life was exposed and his two wives have since fought over his body.

"His friends will testify about whether he converted to Islam as his second wife claims," policeman Delwar Hossain told AFP, adding that the friends would appear in court on June 29.

His Muslim wife, who said she married him a year ago, wants Chakrabarty to be buried in line with traditional Muslim rites.

His Hindu wife, who was married to him for 15 years, said the body must be cremated, and accuses the second wife of being a "fake.”

"If we still can't decide, the court will then see if we need to re-examine the body and see if he had been circumcised," Hossain said.

Circumcision is mandatory for Muslim men but Hindu men are not required by their religion to undergo the operation.

Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country but has a secular criminal system inherited from the British, who formerly ruled the Indian sub-continent.

Have a good Monday and feel better in knowing  you are not Chandan Kumar Chakrabarty, dead or alive!

Fathers Day, My Army Dad

I wish to honor my father on this day albeit posthumously.

If you were to know my dad then you had two choices before you, either you liked and respected him or he made you nervous and uncomfortable, either way once meeting him you would never forget him to be sure.

I say nervous and uncomfortable because it is true. He was a real man, born in Canada with Irish heritage who emigrated legally to the U.S., a patriot to no end, a U.S. Army Veteran, a love for his family without bounds, a love of God and unashamed and very outspoken about all of the above. If a person were to be against such ideals and confront him on it they were to know my dad very intimately in very short order. Of course this would be verbal as in a debate, but if the dissenter broke the rules of decorum, well then God be with them!

You see, my dad was a very welcoming soul with a huge heart so long as you played by the rules (mainly his but also shared by society at large) but it really boiled down to respect and manners (the Golden Rule). This is how I was raised with my two older brothers. Out of many, many friends between us three brothers we 'hung' with there were only a few who were 'welcome anytime' at our home as they also lived and played by the Golden Rule and one of two who remain those great friend's is now a follower and commenter of this blog, George.

I could go on and on as I am sure most of you can about your dad's as well and I hope and pray you never stop, but being the day that it is I wish to continue a tad more with your indulgence.

I cannot thank my dad enough for teaching me to see, read, speak and hear with clarity. No, he or my mother did not raise me to think politically, just clearly so I and my brothers could choose a path in life that was clear of debris with distinct road signs. Full disclosure here, one  brother did not listen to well? (Not me)

I stated at the beginning this was a tribute to my dad and is posthumously as he passed in 2007, may he RIP.

At the time of meeting his maker he had been re-married (my mom passed in 1979) and moved back to Canada remaining a U.S. citizen. I got the call. When the phone rang, seeing the caller I.D. I knew what was to be the message, don't ask me how as he was not ill per sey, aging yes but not ill. Honestly this was so far the very worst day in my adulthood.

In my time on Gods' earth I have seen death too many times to count including my mom when I was in 8th grade. I am the youngest of three and the closest to the border to Canada and my only saving grace for me on that day and the days to follow was the woman God sent me, my wife, God Bless her.

My dad was more than a father to me, he was my best friend and mentor. I wish to show you two things, both of which he loved and maybe explain  my dad and me a little by extension.

First, This is about the 1st Infantry -The Big Red One- of which my dad was a Master Sergent and proud member. (Those of you with military background know of the rank and dare say attitude, better said fortitude.)

Second, although he was a youth when he first enjoyed it, his favorite music (and mine),,,

Thanks Dad, I love you and always will!!!

Happy Fathers Day All!

This is a Marine !

The following is about one single Marine I was unaware of , not that I could possibly know all of them but am feeling quite remiss in not knowing or at least not knowing of this one, that is up until now.

Some background as to how this Patriot, this Marine came to my attention. My good friend, co-worker, Patriot and Air Force Veteran sent me an email with a link to AR15.COM  with the following comment:

"This Marine shows more duty, loyalty, honor and courage than Obama will ever know, just by standing still." -Brian

I can say Brian is absolutely correct (as he tends to be ) and thank him for sharing!

Please take a moment to read this as it may warm your heart and as always remember our current, former and fallen U.S. Armed Service personnel.

[Note; The original article was posted December 14, 2009 on Marine, an online magazine.]

WASHINGTON – Now and again a person may stumble across events that will impact their life with the force of a wrecking ball. For Staff Sgt. Tim Chambers, he found himself overwhelmed with indecision tearing his mind in every direction.

His quandary: how to reach each and every veteran’s emotions and heal their pain with respect and compassion.

Chambers’ spontaneous march into the middle of the street seven years ago to render honors to the thousands of veterans riding in Rolling Thunder was his answer. A salute was his method.

During the ride that takes place Memorial Day weekend every year, Chambers stands with his hand on his makeshift memorial at 23rd and Constitution Avenue and the lone Marine addresses the crowd.

“This is for my brothers and sisters and your fellow patriots. It stands here in honor of those in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is their memorial,” he said.

Boots, a rifle, flack jacket and Kevlar were displayed proudly at his feet. Families of fallen service members donated personal effects of their loved ones to symbolize their body and spirit.

“The bullets of morality fire more true than our lead,” continued Chambers. “I stand here to show respect and welcome these veterans home who returned at a time filled with negative sentiment for their service. We have not forgotten.”

The rolling thunder from thousands of motorcycles emerged from Memorial Bridge and Chambers’ heels slammed together, his fist lined his trouser seam and his right hand snapped to a stern salute perfectly aligned with his brow.

By noon, sunshine engulfed the morning mist and echoes of encouragement joined with the roar of engines in a symphony of compassion as the Rolling Thunder procession made their way through the district.

As veterans rode passed Chambers, shouts of “Semper Fi” and “Ooh-rah” emerged through the rumble of exhausts.

“Semper Fi, thank you for your service,” Chambers replied while looking directly into their eyes.

Chambers later said that it look as if many of the veterans’ eyes who rode by still had remnants of the thousand yard stare acquired in combat. However, Chambers’ eyes held the thousand yard stare of sincerity.

“I haven’t been deployed so I have to do everything, everything I can to make a difference on the home front. I can’t grasp what these and current combat veterans have gone through but I can keep giving what I do,” he explained.

Occasionally veterans, some wearing jean jackets weighed down with patches, medals and patriotic pins, would stop his bike and march to Chambers’ position to show his gratitude by returning a salute.

“I consider it my homecoming,” said Robert L. Seltz, who served as a corporal from October 1970 to April 1972 in Vietnam. “Seeing staff sergeant up there gives me pride. I want to stick my chest out, walk taller and hold my head high.”

Seltz explained that over the years, seeing Chambers’ strength standing for hours has given some veterans, including himself, the courage to finally confront the pain they kept inside for so long.

After an hour of holding his salute, discomfort began to set in. Salt rings grew around his collar and his face turned dark red, but he did not falter as there were still thousands of veterans left to honor.

“I do this for the pain,” he explained. “It’s all about the pain. A lot of these guys still hurt and if I can relieve their pain through mine just for one brief moment, then I’ve done my job.”

After three hours and seven minutes, the statuesque Marine stumbled back and dropped to his knees as the last motorcycle passed. He stood slowly regaining his strength and balance and placed his hand on the memorial then closed his eyes and prayed.

Throughout the day hundreds of emotional veterans thanked him for his efforts and shook his hand. Each time Chambers said, “No, it was my pleasure. Thank you.”

Before the ride began, veterans threw and placed flowers at Chambers’ feet in a salute to him, but the flowers took on an unintended and more profound symbolism for one girl. As he stumbled back from exhaustion, a young red-headed girl walked up to Chambers wearing emotions on her face.

“Thank you so much, my name is McKenzie,” she told him. “I lost my father in Iraq five days ago…” she buried her face into Chambers’ shoulder.

After a long embrace, he walked with her to where the flowers were thrown and whispered, “These were thrown down here for your father. You may never hear this but he was a hero. He preserved freedom and left behind a legacy of leadership that will continue to save lives.”

Chambers said he never found out her full name or who her father was, but he will remember the moment for the rest of his life.

Chambers said coming to Washington for the past seven years has been quite a journey. This year, he accompanied Carry the Flame, a non-profit organization raising awareness about the needs of veterans, through every state across Interstate 40 and participated in the name readings of the fallen from Iraq and Afghanistan, rendering a salute at each location. The journey also lead him to console and break bread with more than 200 ‘Gold Star’ families.

“When you meet a gold star mom, time stops,” explained Chamber’s wife Juls. “They have given so much and have made the biggest sacrifice of their son’s and daughters to America. It is just as important to honor the families as it is to honor the fallen.”

Chambers said his determination to thank each and every veteran is what drove him to this street seven years ago and is what keeps him going today.

Chambers said the events on Sept. 11, 2001, helped instill the conviction to stand on the corner of 23rd and Constitution Avenue for so many hours.

“I’ll be here for the rest of my life. The only thing that can take me away would be a deployment,” Chambers said.

Chambers has ambitious goals for next year’s Memorial Day and hopes he can reach out to even more veterans than ever before.

“I want to line the side of the street with children saluting the veterans as they pass,” explained Chambers. “The median spanning the whole street will be filled with dedications from ‘Gold Star’ families of their loved ones and perhaps one day these items will grace a memorial dedicated to the heroism of the generation fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Louisiana Needs Our (My) Help!

Dear Friends,
I will be out of touch for several weeks volunteering for the clean-up of the Louisiana coastline.

I have been so upset about the impending damage to the fertile coast that when I received this message and saw the attached picture of the damages to the wildlife, I immediately decided to answer the call.

These creatures won’t survive without our prompt help!

[CP Editorial Note]

Now before fellow conservatives take me to task for this post I would like to say first off that it was an email sent to me by a fellow conservative.

Second, to my readers of the fairer sex I mean no offense as none is intended as I hold all of you in the highest regard. (My wife also proof-read and approved this post)

Third, to any and all religious folk (such as myself) who may protest, I might remind you that what is shown above 'shows' less than the average bikini worn and seen on any given summer day at beaches all across our country.

And finally, I am male after all, we all need a smile even in bad times and it's Friday. Have a great weekend!

POLICE STATE 2010: National Guard Orders CNN To Stop Filming Birds Covered In Oil

After 58 days of leaking oil, turning down help immediately offered by foreign nations, a speech naming yet another commission to "discuss it", repeated failures by BP to cap the well, repeated calls for help from Gulf State Governors and business's with no response, the Federal response making the hurricane Katrina snafu look like the best government response to a crisis ever in recorded history and not to mention a mid-term election coming in a short 5 1/2 months with NO end in sight to this mess we get this,,,,,,,,

Mind you this is NOT Fox News being barred from filming, it is CNN which is not known for being unfriendly to this current Hussein regime.

Ahh, the transparency issue crops up again. This is about the public not seeing first hand what a FAILURE this socialist is and trying to minimize the damage of the coming political tsunami in November.

Hussein is delusional at best.

Being the damage so large in a body of water so large and a very large population well armed with video/photo devices how can he possibly believe he can contain the images of his failure as a 'leader'?

Surrender

On separate note but related to the same socialist regime we find this 'administration' essentially ceding American soil to Mexico as most of you are already aware,,,,well I agree with my friend Bob, please hear him out to see if you just might agree,,,

This socialist Hussein regime with it's czars along with the socialist-controlled politburo are destroying our nation and must be removed from office and the sooner the better!

May God help us to make it to November!
