Screening of Anti-Park51 Film Held Alongside ISNA Event with Imam Rauf

Henry Ford Community & Performing Arts Center Dearborn, MI. Saturday, January 15, 5PM.

Detroit, MI – The Christian Action Network (CAN) and PRB Films will be holding an event in Detroit opposing the controversial Ground Zero Mosque on January 15, 2011 only two miles away from where Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the leader of the mosque project called Park51, will be starting his own speaking tour at a conference held by the Islamic Society of North America.

CAN says that the events will include screenings of their documentary, SACRIFICED SURVIVORS: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque that features survivors of the 9/11 attacks and the families of the victims to argue against Park51. The organization is also bringing in speakers, including some of those in the film, to talk to the local media and event attendees.

Martin Mawyer, the President of CAN and the producer of the film, says his group is working to schedule similar events around the country in response to Imam Rauf’s speaking tour.

“We made this film so that the people who were on the scene on 9/11 or lost family members in those attacks could have their say on the Ground Zero mosque issue,” Mawyer said. “They are the ones who will have to live with it near the graves of their loved ones and they need to be asked what they think.”

CAN is actively reaching out to other organizations and activists to host screenings in local theaters, churches and other venues so that they combine their efforts to stop the Ground Zero mosque.

Speakers at the Event. All Speakers Will be Available for the Media:

-Martin Mawyer, the President of the Christian Action Network and producer of SACRIFICED SURVIVORS: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque.

-Tim Brown, a retired New York City firefighter and first responder on September 11, 2001. He is also founder of The Bravest, an organization supporting fallen members of the New York Fire Department and their families and is a leading critic of the Ground Zero mosque.

-Michael Burke, the brother of Captain Billy Burke, a New York City firefighter whose life was lost on 9/11. He will tell you the heroic story of his brother, who safely exited the World Trade Center and instead of choosing to return home to his family, re-entered the attacked building to save the lives of others.

-Nonie Darwish, an Egyptian-American human rights activist and founder of Arabs For Israel and the director of Former Muslims United. She is a leading voice against radical Islam, especially “the Middle Eastern Islamic culture and the propaganda of hatred taught to children from birth.”

-Andy Sullivan, the founder of the 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge, a petition signed by construction workers pledging to never participate in the construction of the Ground Zero Mosque. He escaped the World Trade Center before it collapsed and worked for weeks with the bucket brigade to search for survivors and the remains of victims in the rubble.

The screenings are open to the public and will be held at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center at 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, M.I. 48126. To RSVP or interview any of the listed speakers, please email Amber@Sullivan-Strategies.com or call 917-239-2554.

Do you remember what happened at the Arab Fest in Dearborn? Muslims like to kill when they think that someone has dishonored Alah or Mohamed.

They are a good group are they not huh Carol!

You would have to know the neighborhood in Dearborn,Mi to understand that CAN and any comers will indeed be watching each others backs. Dearborn more resembles Beirut, Lebanon concerning it's population.

Ya' got that right Silver! And as such; to every force, there is an equal and opposite force.

Chris, you almost sound like a lefty in that you imply if we just ignore this it will go away. If we ignore this, the terrorists win by default.

Odie, why stop at two?

Afterward, people could donate the meat to a local homeless shelter as well in the name of Christianity and the surviving families of the 9-11 victims.
