I must say that the U.S. Supreme Court is so wrong on this that I lack word's to describe it further, but that said one has to address the State of California and it's own 'progressive' policies to begin with.
One has to ask of the entire prison population in California; Just how many are illegal aliens to begin with?
Being a betting man myself I would say at least half of that particular population is in fact just that, illegal, and that is before they even committed the crime for which they were incarcerated. Now of course that would be a suckers bet given the actuality of "Sanctuary Cities" that were popularized and strongly embraced in that State years ago and to this very day I might add.
This action by the SCOTUS does not bode well at all for CA nor the Nation as a whole as now a precedent has been set and you can thank a liberal for this the next time you meet up with one at their loved ones funeral.
A final note to CA as a good friend suggested regarding this; Yes release them but deep inside Mexico, it's called DEPORTATION!

SCOTUS should never have ruled in this manner! Sure, some of those who will be released will pose no threat to the citizenry. But many will. :(
I read today that California just accidentally released 450 violent prisoners. Some kind of computer glitch, I think.
No "glitch" in my view as that just does not happen >:o
