Interesting, the all seem to agree that times are hard but none of them were willing to blame the Democrats, it is always George W. Bush's fault. That is just a typically presentation for a liberal (or socialist) to put together. Can you say the economy is looking like it is getting better? I don't think we can with the ever decreasing amount of private sector jobs available. But I don't know what how the people are thinking in general who are unemployed. Do they have too higher standards to take a job they find? are the not willing to work at a fast food joint or a super market? I know that if I wanted to I can go on the McDonalds website right now here in NZ and fill out a form and be working for them in the the next week. That has sort of moved off the topic of the video, but that's what came to mind.
Gullibility and the desire for the brass ring, without having to think for oneself, is what gets people and an economy screwed up. Government only enables and deepens the mess people get themselves into.
I have watched for 3 decades people listening to the BS that buying a house is the best investment they can make. It can be a good thing if they can afford a 10% downpayment by saving up and not raiding their retirement accounts for a 5% down offer that is too good to be true. It can be a good thing if they have set aside enough to do all the repairs when something goes wrong cuz a landlord won't be there to fix it. It can be a good thing if they buy a house based on straight time earnings, overtime is the gravy that fills the savings boat. It can be a good thing if they don't buy that ski boat, camper and just gotta have a new peekup every three to four years. It can be good if they choose to have mortgage insurance for those times when their income is hampered by unforeseen consequenses. It can be a good deal if they have medical insurance so they don't bleed out financially when they fall off the ladder fixing the roof.
And the list could go on, but my point is, owning and keeping a home requires planning, intelligent decision making and a lot of hard work on an individual basis. Anybody that listens to this video and comes away thinking any government, Dem or Reb, can fix their problems or stimulate the economy has their head up their butt and deserve the stench of their fouled up thought processes.
Bush didn't break the economy, yep made it worse and Obama can't fix the economy, yep will only make it worse. What broke the economy was indebtedness that could not be paid back to the lender. It started at the bottom, the individual consumer, and gushed (not trickled) up.
So leave the dang duck alone, shoot it was my responsibility to comment or not. :-E
This went from being Obama's fault, to Republicans fault, and ending with things are improving. But 5 people of 300M doesn't a broad opinion make. Was it Bush's fault? In some ways. Was it Dems in control of Congress fault? In some ways. Has Obama made it worse? In some ways. Point here is nothing was being done prior to 2011 The debt problem was not fully recognized and excepted until 2010 Business are holding on to money but are holding on to it, because of the massive amount of debt the government owns and they feel THEY will have to bailout the government. We have a new breed in control of the House. The American people drained the Swamp. We need a new breed in the Senate and the Whitehouse before we see an improvement. 2 Years of total control of the legislative and executive branches by the Dems have shown that with bigger government, things have gotten much worse. Free enterprise is the ONLY solution.
Lyall,,,You did not move off topic as it is an open thread and as stated there is "alot to comment on".
What is seen in the video is what the White House likes to call the "new normal". By doing this they seek lower expectations from the general populous (half of us already had that in 2008) and at the same time gives cover for Obama (if accepted as the people in the video do) by forwarding the thought 'What a great job he has done considering,,,,,,'
Of course this video and the thinking (or lack thereof) in it is all rubbish. If these moon-bats want to sit on their hands and wait for their great 'leader' to hand out goodies, fine. But there are those of us and more are waking up that do not, will not ever be complacent with this BS being pushed as the 'new normal' as we know damn well our nation can do much, much better and will not rest until that is achieved.
What the liberal socialists are doing is not only a crime against our Constitution but as it pertains to the future of our youth, it is a crime against humanity.
p.s.; I pray all is as well that it can be in New Zealand after your recent earthquake(s),
This is the 'new normal' we in "fly-over" country are being conditioned to accept and the AP is doing their damnest to promote such thinking; Low expectations on everything.
When real inflation hits setting up the Great Depression II people such as in the video will not have a clue as to what happened or be ready for it.
The librarian who makes her wages off the taxpayer, well forget how people use the library as it will be boarded up and she now will be out on the street.
The barber, much the same as humans have been grooming themselves for eons and will not shell out what little money they have for his services.
The socialist paraphernalia gift shop owner, forget about it.
The jewelry shop owner, well if not outright robbed of his inventory due to it's intrinsic value it will be seized by the government (legally robbed) for the same reason.
The farmer is most likely the most realistic in this but his situation will be much the same as the jewelry shop owner.
This little group in the video is representative of liberal voters on a grander scale and they only have to look in the mirror to see just exactly who is to blame.
RR,,,, It may be unscientific but these are real moon-bats and vote that way. I agree on the hooey but this is exactly what the White House is pushing as the 'new normal' running up to the 2012 election.
Spot-on Silver. I think it wise for the GOP or related PAC to incorporate these comments in the video into TV spots running up to the 2012 election. I am sure some creative individuals could create a spot with real impact with this.

Agreed Joe. Anyone who thinks as the people in the video do have only themselves to blame as well as millions of so-called 'independents' whom I suspect have a very bad case of voter remorse although they will not publicly admit it but all know in our own circles of just who they are.
But here again the AP is pushing the White House theme of the 'new normal'.
My God in Heaven, if this is the new normal then what was formerly defined as a recession is now a depression. So if what was formerly known as a recession is now a depression then it would be logical to assume that what was formerly defined as a depression would now become an IMPLOSION.
Mark,,I tend to agree with most of what you state but I differ a tad on the part about a new breed in the House of Representatives and draining the swamp.
It is true that in 2010 we elected some of what may be deemed a new breed into office but they are a minority caucus within the GOP. It is in fact the RINO's led by Boehner that are the majority in the House that are not listening to the peoples will that is being voiced for us by the 'new breed'.
The swamp is not drained to completion in that chamber and the next wetland known as the Senate is unfortunately alive and well.
2012 is not just about the White House and none of us should forget that very important point.
The problems facing America are extremely complex. I've been all over the internet and have read daily opinions by people who Should know what they're talking about. Investment people running millions of $ other people's money as well as their own. Economists, Other well educated people and I have to say the Net Total of it is no one really knows how this is going to turn out. Most of those I find have a good historical track record for forecasting feel it's going to get very bad at some point but no one knows when that will be.
I do feel the democrats are the evil that have driven the country into these very dire straights by hijacking very important engines in our society such as education, energy policy, allowing vampire lawyers to run loose on the healthcare system, supporting unions to absurd levels, etc. At the same time, the Republicans have been the useless pack of giggling school girls, unable and unwilling to do anything to right the ship.
I see it as the inevitable. Problems that should have been corrected long ago have been kicked down the road like a can, and now we are stuck with a Major percentage of people who won't vote for doing the right thing if you threatened to cut their leg off. We're headed for rock bottom before any healing can start.
I cut off the first line of my comment above which is -I hold nothing agaisnt the people in the video. Frankly if they even know who the main poiliticians are, they're a leg up on a whole lot of other voters.
I call for a beer summit (for fun) with all who have commented on this.
I asked and received comments and damn if I and you did not receive such !
Kid,,You and the other's have articulated what I saw in this and more, much more! We have a simple (well challenged) task of repeating this message outside of the Internet with face-to-face discussion's and yes, confrontation's.
Actually we have no other choice.
We have all here joined what is the alternative media and it is working, now all must become what our parents or in some cases Grandparents were to us,,,first responder educators.
The Republicans have been the useless pack of giggling school girls. The Democrats are the evil that have driven the country into these very dire straights.
There is no way to say it any better. If you have feelings about the country, Kid can put it into words.
All the librarians in Northern Virginia are liberals and sound just like the librarian at the end of the video. Dyed-in-the-wool Dems will not break ranks with Obama -- until rock bottom is reached and they themselves are touched.
So far, a lot of Dems haven't suffered financially. At least the Dems whom I personally know.
They are all drones AOW. I work with many dems that do feel the pinch in the wallet and yet?
Like gas prices, I tell them the POTUS can do something about them and they say no, it's not Obamas fault. Now it do not launch into "You did not say that about Bush". No, I tell them I did not say it was his fault but he can do something to lower the price by reversing his own order on drilling for more oil. I further explain by just saying the words and meaning it, speculators on Wall Street will drive down the price due to knowing more oil will be on the market.
The reaction from dems is common; "I did not know he stopped drilling"?
As a good friend always says, "They do not know that they do not know".

Unscientific propaganda... and you know who for
What a bunch of hooey
Pure pro-Obama, anti-GOP propaganda. Could you imagine AP doing this same video during the Bush presidency? No way!
