I'm not convinced that Islam is the problem. Islamism or radical Islam, yes, but not Islam itself. The problem with Islamism is that it's mingled with statist ideals, including the concepts that government ought to have absolute authority over the people. In this sense, it is not a too far distant cousin of fascism.
Have you seen the videos of Muslim clerics calling for the sex slavery of none Muslim women and the slavery of none muslim boys and men? One uslim women looked into this Islamic theology of ownership and found that most think it should be a part of every country.
Just what, if may I inquire, is needed to convince you that indeed it is?
From it's very inception by a human not a Deity, unless that is you would refer to Lucifer as a deity, islam at it's heart is a very BIG PROBLEM and this is documented not in the quaran but in islamic history texts that has been proven just not taught.
Chris,, This is widely known to those with open eyes and ears such as yourself as this is what moslems have done throughout history no matter where they go.
Christopher: I cannot answer to the human versus deity origins. That is a debate for theologians and saints. Rather, having lived and worked in the Mideast, I do know that not all of Islam is radicalized and not all of Islam rejects westernization. Even the title of your post makes the distinction, so, at some level, you realize that it's the reinterpretation of Islam through the eyes of radicals that is the problem.
One problem, as I see it, is that the Mideast has never accepted the concept of the separation of church and state. When the two combine, as the US founders understood, trouble and abuse is not far behind. Mare damaging still, is that many in the Mideast accept systems of governemnt that lead directly to dictatorships and authoritarian systems. These are the mos dangerous of all, as evidenced by the sheer destructiveness of commmunism and fascism.
Rather, instead of wholely balming Islam, I would blame the modern trend to recombine Islam with authoritarian government and the spreading concept of a single Islamic nation. That is a combination ripe for the abuse of power.
That is the problem, moslems seek sharia law which rules and encompasses everything from daily mundane chores to an overreaching economic structure, for and against all.
Top that off with warring factions between them (which is what they are best at) and we see the result.
The Brits tried to bring civility to the Middle East and did for awhile much like Tito did later with Yugoslavia (I know communist, but similar warring faction's) and both failed due to the fact you cannot change history by just saying so or dictating it for that matter.
One need only look at the current situation with the "Arab Spring" and see it is s springboard to sharia controlled states.
What most do not see when this is achieved is a coming battle between the Sunni and Shia factions, there can only be one ruling the moslem world after all. These people fight long wars, very long wars (hint; Israel) and only see the end game.
As to "That is a debate for theologians and saints", well you do not have to be either to investigate and research but I believe the word's you chose are more than apropos as this war is indeed about religion as so many Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and others would testify too if they could, but alas they cannot as they were beheaded by the devils known as moslems.

Everyone better wake up...Fast.
These sickos are an epidemic.
They may one day make the bubonic plague look similar to a common cold.
Islam is a danger, but the socialism at home is a far greater threat.

One of the reasons I favor Allen West in a big way. He knows the score.
,,,,,Like yesterday!
If people do not wake up soon they need not fear the Bubonic Plague or any illness as they will be dead.
There is the key Trestin, socialism ushers in radical islam and for proof all one has to do is look to Europe.

Sorry. That last post was mine. For some reason the system logged me off just as I posted it.
