I do not even know what to really say here, except to say I am appalled at this action.
These British soldiers, airmen and navy fight side by side with our military service personnel and believe they all should receive the proper welcome home and respect for which they have truly earned.
To "avoid the public" for which they served valiantly is really an insult to all who love freedom and deprives those British Subjects who hold that thought to say a final goodbye and thank you.
Both our shared history aside we are in fact allies for quite sometime now and it is my wish that this "back road" policy in Britain be rescinded if not for the lost soldier but for their family.
UPDATE: Via my friend Barking Spider,,,,,,Pat spellls it out
Sound familiar America? Wake up!

Sent out of a back gate. Driven to avoid the local Town. Shameful. Disgusting.
And we all know which dangerous goat-molesting section of the "community" has been climbing on the "I'm offended" bandwagon here, don't we!
Appeasement. Hey, it's never worked in the whole of history, so let's try again...just in case!
Cheers Eye,
I truly find this action very, very objectionable!
"Appeasement" like socialism destroys entire populations and their respective cultures giving morality and respect a bad name for Pete's sake?
This is beyond sickening! How I wish LAdy Thatcher was still running things there! And to think Britain once was ruled by common sense!
Joe,
I am pleased you mentioned Lady Thacher, what a Gal! This of course is not to demean in any way, shape or form the the stature of Sir Winston Churchhill but am sure had they shared a common era would have gotten along famously!
How incredibly sad!
Maggie, I understand as do all reading but the think the word "sad" is a huge understatement.
IMHO this is beyond sad and borders on, if not already there, insanity!
Here we go again, political correctness & multi-culturalism, all dictated by the few.
Mark, I agree and that term "political correctness" must be banished and truth be spoken,,the sooner the better!
My wife is British, and she's very pissed about this as well (as am I).
Jim,,British or American, this should piss-off all! >:o This an afront to all who happen to be,,,human!
The behavious of the good folk of Wooton Basset was an embarrasment to 'The Establishment' who would have preferred it not to have happened. Torn between banning, ignoring or lionising that behavior they hit upon the costless wheeze of granting the town the title of Royal which will leave future generations wondering why.
That unamed smarm-monger who claimed that the new route was all about not disturbing the residents of Carterton is simply typical of the people who administer us these days and who would describe a new Holocaust as an Administrative Clarification.
Congrats to the interviewer for finding three splendid ladies to tell the truth as it is.

ps, re Pats new vid, I read The Guardian newspaper as a young teenager until I realised that it was full of middle class left wing pr*ckery (and that was before the days of multi-culti).
Banned,,,I have not heard from you in awhile and pray is all well?! (Please say that is true)
That 'outta the way I must say you have kept too form, straight and too the point!
I do agree on the interviewer,,,,,, 8-)
Banned, I was born in 1964 and read much BS myself but found it to be amour ss I deal with shit now. When knows the enemy the result is endless and inevitable.
Unreal. This is one of the PUKE CITY DESTINATIONS you arrive at when you commit to traverse the road called Politically Correct.
Unreal.
PS - Happy 4th to you and yours Christopher !
Kid,
I understand your use of "unreal" but sadly it is just the very opposite and as such I highlight it.
Many Americans may wonder why I bring this subject too fore on this of all days and what I would answer to that would seem simple in my mind - a warning.
And to you my fellow Patriot! 8-)
Christopher,
On a positive note, it is absolutely stunning how the good common folk of Wooten Bassett (or any similar town) can show such warmth and decency to these fallen heroes without prompting or cajoling. The scenes of the hearses passing down the street with the flags and banners being lowered in tribute is incredibly moving.
What is this malignancy we carry that , when we form governments, we collectively lose this decency?
God damn this and God damn those who take this decency form us!
I borrowed heavly on this post over a tt my blog; thank you and Happy Fourth!

War,
You are one helluva an American and I am proud too be counted in your circle if for only the internet (so far). Your positive note was required, God Bless and Happy 235th Birthday to you Sir !
I'm fine Chris; I was off-comp once again since my motherboard burned out (or somfink like that). A mate from work who seems to know about these things built me this tower system from new for £200 against the £600 or whatever demanded from commercial suppliers.
Bless the people who take time out of their day to stand along the roadside to pay tribute to their fallen heroes.
Banned, Thank you for the good news on both counts! 8-) :) 8-)
Indeed Supi! :)
