Monday Laugh - Political Speech Prep

I am not aware of the origin of this video clip but leave it to the British and their humor (humour) to show us the behind the scenes action into developing both a political speech and the politician as well for the camera and the teleprompter.

I hope you got a smile and a laugh out of that!

Good Story for the Day - Solving a 100-year Dilemma

Now just imagine having to haul water up a mountain with a 5-gallon bucket on your head 4 times a day!

In older times I am sure they managed with clay and then tin containers for the H2O which both in of themselves would have added greater weight to the chore and or leading to more treks up and down the mountain side.

What I see in this an environmentalist would see as a man-made disaster, OIL giving the actual help.

Yes, I said oil.

Before Operation Blessing arrived the people on the mountain were utilizing 5 gallon plastic buckets and how are plastic products made - Oil. Now look closer and you can see Oil elsewhere in this story.

How did Operation Blessing get to Honduras?  A plane. What is the basis for jet fuel? Oil.

Did you see the PVC piping? Just what makes PVC work as a durable and cost efficient alternative to cast iron or copper? Again, Oil. I am quite sure an intelligent reader can see more but believe my point is made.

The people on the mountain now have running fresh water due in part to other people helping them. At the same time we see one abiotic source (oil) helping another abiotic source (water) achieve the same goal and actually defying gravity itself.

Good story, you bet!

Note to any environmentalist reading this;  If you are reading this, thank Oil. Why you may inquire? Well look at the device you are using be it a laptop, PC, iPad,,etc., it's all made in part of plastic thanks to Oil.

Not a Rule #5, But Rather WTF?

I guess it's good work if you can,,,,,,not

CP Jukebox - Country Double-Header

The Jukebox is pleased to play what I heard back-to-back on a local radio station last night. First up is an old fav by Sammy Kershaw "She Don't Know She's Beautiful", I am not one for Karaoke but if i did attempt it would be this song as I know it word for word,,,,,

Second up is a newer song that I have come to appreciate as well as the artist; Billy Currington- "Let Me Down Easy".

Now while nabbing this last video off of YouTube I happened to read a comment on it and nearly cracked my head open fallin' off my chair laughing,,,

"I got a lap dance to this and almost started crying in front of the stripper!"

Without further ado,,,,,,,,,,

If a Super Volcano Rises, Does it Make a Sound (In the MSM)?

Some places saw the ground rise by ten inches, experts report

Brian Handwerk for National Geographic News
Published January 19, 2011

Yellowstone National Park's super volcano just took a deep "breath," causing miles of ground to rise dramatically, scientists report.

The simmering volcano has produced major eruptions—each a thousand times more powerful than Mount St. Helens's 1980 eruption—three times in the past 2.1 million years. Yellowstone's caldera, which covers a 25- by 37-mile (40- by 60-kilometer) swath of Wyoming, is an ancient crater formed after the last big blast, some 640,000 years ago.

Since then, about 30 smaller eruptions—including one as recent as 70,000 years ago—have filled the caldera with lava and ash, producing the relatively flat landscape we see today.

But beginning in 2004, scientists saw the ground above the caldera rise upward at rates as high as 2.8 inches (7 centimeters) a year.

The rate slowed between 2007 and 2010 to a centimeter a year or less. Still, since the start of the swelling, ground levels over the volcano have been raised by as much as 10 inches (25 centimeters) in places.,,,,,,

You Don't Know That You Don't Know (Guest Post)

My good friend Brian wished to address a comment made on a recent post of mine "The Best Argument for the 2nd Amendment - "The Gun Is Civilization" . The comment was made by someone going by the name "Sunflower" and I believed Brians' response to be better served as a post in not only is this "Sunflower" the only liberal be it here in the U.S. or abroad that is ignorant to actual information regarding gun ownership and or the use of them.

The pertinent comment in question:

"The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger" What utter baloney. If you are walking down the street and you feel a gun at your head you cannot reach for the gun in your bag. So do you have to be holding the weapon all the time? And an unarmed man could overpower a woman, reach into her bag and use her own weapon to attack her! In the meantime people get shot by accident, people shoot first and think later, kids play with weapons and gun violence becomes normal in society. You only have to look at countries where gun control exists and violent crime/homicide rates are far far lower.

You Don't Know That You Do Not Know

Sunflower, Wikipedia? and a United Nations chart of statistics? Really?! The biggest anti gun group in the world next to the Brady Campaign and that's where you get your stats? Great, well let me help you out. Try the FBI crime statistics. I think they have better numbers and you can Google it before you leave for Chicago or England where the anti-gun laws make it so much safer for people.

By the way, hot break in’s, that is, home invasions where the occupant is home, went up sharply after England enacted their gun bans.

Here’s more for ya:

The International Crime Victims Survey, conducted by Leiden University in Holland, found that England and Wales ranked second overall in violent crime among industrialized nations.

Twenty-six percent of English citizens -- roughly one-quarter of the population -- have been victimized by violent crime. Australia led the list with more than 30 percent of its population victimized.

The United States didn't even make the "top 10" list of industrialized nations whose citizens were victimized by crime.

Jack Straw, the British home secretary, admitted that "levels of victimization are higher than in most comparable countries for most categories of crime."

Highlights of the study indicated that:

-The percentage of the population that suffered "contact crime" in England and Wales was 3.6 percent, compared with 1.9 percent in the United States and 0.4 percent in Japan.

-Burglary rates in England and Wales were also among the highest recorded. Australia (3.9 percent) and Denmark (3.1 per cent) had higher rates of burglary with entry than England and Wales (2.8 percent). In the U.S., the rate was 2.6 percent, according to 1995 figures;

-"After Australia and England and Wales, the highest prevalence of crime was in Holland (25 percent), Sweden (25 percent) and Canada (24 percent). The United States, despite its high murder rate, was among the middle ranking countries with a 21 percent victimization rate," the London Telegraph said.

-England and Wales also led in automobile thefts. More than 2.5 percent of the population had been victimized by car theft, followed by 2.1 percent in Australia and 1.9 percent in France. Again, the U.S. was not listed among the "top 10" nations.

-The study found that Australia led in burglary rates, with nearly 4 percent of the population having been victimized by a burglary. Denmark was second with 3.1 percent; the U.S. was listed eighth at about 1.8 percent.

Going back to your comments.

The scenario you painted is a no win even for the police. A Kobayashi Maru if you will. And it exemplifies the false statement that only cops and military should have guns. In Sterling Heights Michigan four or five years ago a cop was shot sitting in his cruiser and his duty sidearm was stolen. It happens to the best and brightest unfortunately.

Yes, the great equalizer. When a 100 pound lady is confronted by a 200 pound mugger the little lady would be within her right to draw her gun and shoot the attacker even though he is, or may be unarmed. It's called Disparity of Force. The outcome of course is dependent on the fact that she is aware of her surroundings and recognizes the threat in time to do something about it. We call this being in condition yellow.

Any woman who has attended a credible CCW class was taught the worst place to carry a gun is the handbag or purse because it’s the first place the Goblin goes. Better to have it in a holster, strong side and loaded. So no, you don't have to be holding it all the time which would be considered brandishing in most, if not all jurisdictions and it would land you in jail.

Kids & guns. Yep it happens and it's extremely sad but is it the guns fault or the moron parent who left it unattended or unlocked and they should be held liable for any mishap. Is it the cars fault when someone leaves it running and some kid jumps in and drives away with it? No it’s the owners fault.

People get shot by accident, people get run over by accident and people drop things on their big toe by accident. The key words here are people and accident. It happens. I’ve handled guns for the last 30 years and so far I haven’t had any gun accidents. I have dropped things on my big toe though.

Shoot first and think later? Really? Did you think of that all on your own? I think not. All of the folks I know who carry guns have been through some training and all are taught how to think first to avoid having to use their gun, but if it becomes inevitable or necessary, they were taught to think through the problem not after it. “Shoot first and ask questions later” will land you in jail.

Gun violence is not the norm, unless you're watching a Hollywood movie, which some in the anti-gun community consider to be training films. Here's a clue, nobody in real life shoots that way. It wastes bullets and is usually not the most tactically advantages way to address a lethal problem. Not to mention the legal problems following the shooting as it’s the responsibility of anyone who carries a gun to be responsible for every round that comes out of the barrel and where it comes to rest.

“Gun violence” is just a play on words for folks of weak mind as it gives them something to blame for the problem instead of the person committing the crime. Gun Banners like it that way because they don't like people having guns even for defense and they think that if they can convince enough folks to be afraid of guns they will be able to get rid of them one day. You never hear knife violence, alcohol violence or baseball bat violence do you? It’s ok to have evil people out on the streets we just need to get rid of the guns. Right! Gah!!!

Sunflower your Pollyanna world of peace without guns doesn’t exist and never will as long as there is evil violence perpetrated by evil people. If you don’t want a gun for self defense it’s your choice to not have one. You can continue to walk around thinking guns don’t solve problems and be completely helpless and when you get in trouble and need help dealing with a lethal problem you can do what every other anti-gun person does, call somebody (the Police) with a gun.

Sunflower, you don’t know anything about carrying guns or self defense yet you want to come on someone else’s blog and give opinion on how we are wrong. You fall into a category of people I call the “don’t know”.

You don’t know, you don’t know that you don’t know, and if for some reason you did know, you wouldn’t care.

-Brian

History Lesson in a Box - New Communist Monopoly game

The Sun - A COMMUNIST version of Monopoly has been made where players trade in bread and loo (toilet) paper instead of hotels and houses. The board game, called Queue (Line), is the brainchild of the National Remembrance Institute in Poland to show children what the country was like in the Soviet era.

Players get a list of ten essential items like bread and toilet roll and have to travel around the board joining queues (lines) to get into state owned shops.

Instead of old favourites like Chance and Community Chest, players can draw wild cards which can get them sent to the front of queues because of a Communist Party connection or having their shop closed down for "decadence".

The game's creator Karol Madaj said: "The game not only makes players understand shopping in Poland under communism. "It also teaches them what queuing (lining up) is like - something people seem to have forgotten."

Now that does not seem like a very fun game at all but then again I suppose it is not intended that way but rather for instructional purposes.

I would like to see this "game" translated into an English version and distributed throughout our educational system and be mandatory participation in all civics and government related studies.

I found a good graphic for the cover of the game box should it reach our shores,,,,,,,,,

Astrology and Stereotypes

I believe most have heard of the most important and earth-shattering news of the past week and that being that it is quite possible that all of our Zodiac signs have changed!  That's right, there are now 13 sign's and you will have to read a different sign for your daily horoscope!

The new dates are as follows: Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16, Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11, Pisces: March 11- April 18, Aries: April 18- May 13, Taurus: May 13- June 21, Gemini: June 21- July 20, Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10, Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16, Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30, Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23, Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29, Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17, and Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20.

For more of an understanding on Astrology, well I hand this over to this young Brit who does a great job of explaining all of it,,,,,,

Now that young man did a great job in his presentation and summation in my humble opinion. While researching this non-story and coming across that I found him to be quite amusing in his thoughts on stereotypes as well. In this next video he explains stereotypes worldwide all the way to our own Sarah Palin,,,,,

Well I hope you got a smile out of this post and if you are a believer in Astrology, sorry to burst your bubble.

Is Opposing Gun Control 'Idiotic?'

Folk's, I know I would seem to be harping on this particular subject but it is very important not only as a personal right guaranteed in our Constitution, but for what would now seem to be obvious societal safety especially in these troubling economic times.

What happened in Tucson was indeed a tragedy but at the same time these things happen on a daily basis to those of much lesser known names but the very same sorrow. By whom? People who were not out to cause chaos but rather to intimidate, rob, steal, mame, rape, torture with a gun that was purchased or otherwise acquired ILLEGALLY and in the full knowledge their intended victims were UNARMED.

Most who visit this site are more than aware of what was just stated above but I wish to share a short debate on the issue by a caller into a radio program as it spells out what ignorance there is on the left in this nation regarding this issue. Now mind you, I am aware of what the socialist politicians are up to in this, but this short "debate" shows the trickle down ignorance of the average socialist VOTER,,,,,,,

Intellectually speaking we are unopposed.

Heritage Minister orders Library and Archives Canada to show controversial film

National Archives cancels screening of documentary on Iran after threats

Sarah Boesveld, National Post · Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011

After receiving threats and two suspicious letters Tuesday, the National Archives of Canada cancelled the screening of a controversial documentary that critiques Iran’s nuclear weapons program, a move that has organizers questioning the national library’s autonomy.

The Free Thinking Film Society’s showing of Iranium prompted so many complaints — some of them from the Iranian Embassy — that staff thought it necessary to close the entire building at 396 Wellington St. in Ottawa, just steps from the Supreme Court of Canada and Parliament Hill at 4:45 p.m., said archives spokeswoman Pauline Portelance.

“Once we started to receive threats from the public and threats of public protest, we deemed the risk associated with the event was a little too high,” she said,,,,,,

With our ever increasingly shrinking and spineless neighbor to our North we in the U.S. had better pay close attention to that particular border as well as the one shared with Mexico.

It looks as though we have accepted the fact that Mexico is basically one huge murderous drug cartel to our South but what will it be like to our North when Canada becomes an islamist state?

The Best Argument for the 2nd Amendment - "The Gun Is Civilization"

My good friend Brian forwarded an email to me that I wish to share as it is timely considering recent events.

Being it came in the form of an email it is quite possible you may have seen / read it before but I believe it bears repeating so that those whom have not can strengthen their case while speaking on the matter.

This is the best argument I have ever heard as it is both eloquent and profound and dare say one would be extremely hard-pressed to debate such reasoning.

"The Gun Is Civilization" by Maj. L. Caudill USMC (Ret)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that's it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force. You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations. These are the people who think that we'd be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job. That, of course, is only true if the mugger's potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat--it has no validity when most of a mugger's potential marks are armed.

People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that's the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

Then there's the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury. This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don't constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst. The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

The gun is the only weapon that's as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter. It simply wouldn't work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn't both lethal and easily employable.

When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

An Ode to GOP RINO's and Fox News - Our Lips Are Sealed

Our Lips Are Sealed, Go-Gos (Jane Wiedlin/T. Hall)

Can you hear them,They talk about us, Telling lies,Well that's no surprise
Can you see them, See right through them,They have no shield,No secrets to reveal
It doesn't matter what they say, In the jealous games people play, Our lips are sealed
There's a weapon,That we must use, In our defense, Silence
When you look at them, Look right through them, That's when they'll disappear,That's when we'll be feared
It doesn't matter what they say, In the jealous games people play, Our lips are sealed
Pay no mind to what they say, It doesn't matter anyway, Our lips are sealed
Hush, my darling, Don't you cry, Quiet, angel, Forget their lies
Can you hear them,They talk about us,Telling lies,Well that's no surprise
Can you see them, See right through them, They have no shield, No secrets to reveal
It doesn't matter what they say, In the jealous games people play, Our lips are sealed
Pay no mind to what they say, It doesn't matter anyway, Our lips are sealed

Our lips are sealed, Our lips are sealed

Jonathan Alter of Newsweek is a Piece of (Insert Vitriol Here)

Conservative Perspective has stood silent on the recent tragedy in Tucson not wanting to weigh in until all the facts were laid to bear, but no longer as the disgusting liberal crap keeps getting published.

I present two excerpts from the uber-liberal shit-bag that goes by the name Jonathan Alter of Newsweek (the socialist rag that sold for a dollar). The first one he states a correct position of conservatives with the exception of the phrase *"like to argue", no this is called reality, but then again Alter knows not of that term.
Then he continues on to state what socialists do which is also correct, wrong in practice, but never the less an admission,,,,,
"Conservatives like to argue that these are isolated incidents carried out by lunatics and therefore carry no big lessons (unless the perpetrator is Muslim, in which case it's terrorism); liberals view them as opportunities to address various social ills. Obama is in the latter category and should act accordingly. "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste," Rahm Emanuel famously said in 2008. The same goes for a shooting spree that gravely wounds a beloved congresswoman"

Not so bad one might say as this seems on target (yes, I purposely used that term) with the one *exception of course until you go further in the article and run smack dab into this, now just how sick does an individual have to be to write something like this,,,,,
"Sad to say, if Giffords had died, she would have been mourned and soon the conversation would have moved on. But Giffords lives, thank God, which offers other possibilities. We won't know for weeks or months whether she can function in public. If she can, she will prove a powerful referee of the boundaries of public discourse--more influential, perhaps, than the president himself"
I did not, nor care to hear or see Obamas speech as I have never seen one, but what Alter wrote and thinks I believe Obama does no matter what he said last night. After all, what he was reading were word's of a speech writer not word's of his own.

On that point, it was nothing but a campaign rally,,,,watch til the end to see what the media did not show you at your expense I might add,,,,

Memorial Service Becomes Obama Rally; Cheers, Much Applause, Whistles, Free T-shirts

Recently Added,,,,,,,,,,,
I ran across an excellent quote over at Camp of the Saints regarding this speech and subsequent reaction to it made by JeffG over at Protein Wisdom that sums up my thoughts as well on this:

Watching many on the right rush to congratulate the President for his supposedly compassionate speech, which included an ironic and hypocritical call for “civility” (NO LABELS, haters!) — after allowing his party and the media to spend five days suggesting that millions of Americans who happen to disagree with the Presidents policies were somehow co-conspirators to multiple murders, including that of a 9-year-old girl — it is clear to me why the GOP establishment and its supporters have consistently ceded ground to the progressives and to their agenda: they strive, above all else, to avoid being cast in a negative light by their political opponents. That is, they’re cowardly and cowed.

The rest of us don’t need to be.

To borrow from the execrable Kos (who, let’s remember, was one of the first of the progressive stampede to tie the shootings to Sarah Palin and the right), screw ‘em. Sideways. With a halibut.

Pelosi Weighs in with the Anti-Christian/Judeo Theme Earlier in the Day

Now, I do not know if anyone reading this post happened to catch the House of Representatives taking the time to put forward a resolution on this matter but I picked-up on a certain familiar theme from the socialist minority leader that I have not heard anyone speak upon yet.

I could only find a full length version of both Boehner and Pelosi speaking so if you wish to view the whole video be my guest.

But in the interest of time and more to the point of my sub-title, please fast-forward to the 13:55 mark

"We do not know why God saw this to be necessary"?

I did not count how many times this vermin said "pray" or "prayer" or what the hell she is praying to if at all but I am sure God saw His children stricken down on Saturday as very unnecessary and evil to boot you dumb bitch.

This evil act last Saturday and many more perpetrated on lesser known Americans everyday is a direct result of the socialist agenda of ridding the Nation of the very name of God.

Is this Gods' fault, no. He gave man free will, but when man chooses to ignore and not teach His words or at a minimum His 10 Commandments then it follows that man is left with no moral compass with which to navigate life itself.

I lay this and all crime at the feet of democrats, liberals, leftists and socialists in this country if they you can seperate them at all.

Is this the change you were waiting for? As they say "Go to sleep with a dog, you wake up with fleas"

A Ride on the Wild Side (literally)

I was sent a link to this story and video and could not believe my eyes! I have seen these types, jackasses on crotch-rockets here in the U.S. before on public roads and highways but usually late at night with far much, much less traffic. This guy is insane!

VIDEO: CRAZY BIKER'S MAD MOSCOW COMMUTE

This video of a biker on his daily commute through Moscow's rush hour will make those of you who have endured a walking-pace grind into work open-mouthed with disbelief (and probably more than a little jealous).

We've brought you stories in the past of the erratic state of both Moscow's roads and its drivers, so this chap's riding to work in a way that would be deemed reckless if you rode like it on Grand Theft Auto is jaw-slackeningly extraordinary.

We're not, of course, defending driving like this - but it is impressive stuff. Like the title of the vid says (at least according to the translation offered by denizens of the webosphere) - "a couple of minutes of my life could be more interesting than the whole life of the other people". CP Rule #5, Bollywood Style - Aishwarya Rai

For those of you that know not of "Bollywood" it is India's version of,,, what else Hollywood as it pertains to Indian cinema and of course celebrities. Now India is not making fun of the West here, they are very serious in their efforts and have made quite a lucrative business in doing so as it is very, very popular in that region of the world. Have no doubt, India knows how to make money.

Back to Rule #5, one of Bollywood's most infamous actresses , Aishwarya Rai is just awesome! I recently became aware of her in viewing a Western style film featuring her titled "Mistress of Spices".

To be honest, I ran across this while surfing cable channels for something worthwhile to watch, clicked for info and thought; oh no, a chick flic. Being I work with a guy from India I thought, OK I will check it out to see how it starts. WOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

CAN says that the events will include screenings of their documentary, SACRIFICED SURVIVORS: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque that features survivors of the 9/11 attacks and the families of the victims to argue against Park51. The organization is also bringing in speakers, including some of those in the film, to talk to the local media and event attendees.

Martin Mawyer, the President of CAN and the producer of the film, says his group is working to schedule similar events around the country in response to Imam Rauf’s speaking tour.

“We made this film so that the people who were on the scene on 9/11 or lost family members in those attacks could have their say on the Ground Zero mosque issue,” Mawyer said. “They are the ones who will have to live with it near the graves of their loved ones and they need to be asked what they think.”

CAN is actively reaching out to other organizations and activists to host screenings in local theaters, churches and other venues so that they combine their efforts to stop the Ground Zero mosque.

Speakers at the Event. All Speakers Will be Available for the Media:

-Martin Mawyer, the President of the Christian Action Network and producer of SACRIFICED SURVIVORS: The Untold Story of the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque.

-Tim Brown, a retired New York City firefighter and first responder on September 11, 2001. He is also founder of The Bravest, an organization supporting fallen members of the New York Fire Department and their families and is a leading critic of the Ground Zero mosque.

-Michael Burke, the brother of Captain Billy Burke, a New York City firefighter whose life was lost on 9/11. He will tell you the heroic story of his brother, who safely exited the World Trade Center and instead of choosing to return home to his family, re-entered the attacked building to save the lives of others.

-Nonie Darwish, an Egyptian-American human rights activist and founder of Arabs For Israel and the director of Former Muslims United. She is a leading voice against radical Islam, especially “the Middle Eastern Islamic culture and the propaganda of hatred taught to children from birth.”

-Andy Sullivan, the founder of the 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge, a petition signed by construction workers pledging to never participate in the construction of the Ground Zero Mosque. He escaped the World Trade Center before it collapsed and worked for weeks with the bucket brigade to search for survivors and the remains of victims in the rubble.

The screenings are open to the public and will be held at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center at 15801 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, M.I. 48126. To RSVP or interview any of the listed speakers, please email Amber@Sullivan-Strategies.com or call 917-239-2554.

CP Jukebox - Inspired by Nonsensible Shoes

Most who know this particular blog are aware that I enjoy music and in that vein I wish to present Gerry Rafferty (1947-2011) May he RIP.

As the title of this post suggests this selection was inspired by Nonsensible Shoes.

As I stated on "Shoes" blog post, I had always loved this song but not knowing many artists names had never known who recorded it, bad on me I know. I am better at numbers as opposed to names meaning dimensional numbers that is being in the Quality Control field relating to measurement.  But by any measurement this is excellent!

Well "Shoes" solved that dilemma for me, that is the not knowing part, with a superb post much to my delight! Plese check it out.

You will know the tune, I hope, and will also relate the words to so many current situations especially our political one that I just had to share. One can take many messages from this, and should I might add, be they personal or political as all apply. I hope you enjoy!

Higher Education??? Israel IQ at UCLA - With Comedian Mark Schiff

"StandWithUs investigates what some UCLA Students know about Israel and the middle-east. See what comedian Mark Schiff discovers when asking some tough and some not-so-tough questions".

The following video is one of those man-on-street type of Q&A scenarios, the difference being is that it is held on the campus of UCLA (for those of you in Rio Linda that is a college).

Most reading/viewing this will most likely already be aware of the absolutely sad, atrocious and inexcusable state of the American education system but this is just ridiculous and further proves the point.

Please watch to the end and you will have one of those face palm moments,,,,,,,,

Red State Agrees with Conservative Perspective, Mike Pence 2012

Erick Erickson over at Red State pens a column in support of a run for president by Mike Pence, which I have been calling for myself in various forums and wishing for on this site (see sidebar).

"He bridges the gap between the establishment and the grassroots. He is in the comfort zone of both. He has a private sector background that shines in comparison to anything Barack Obama ever did before elected politics.* He has the free market think tank background to reassure fiscal conservatives. He has the social conservative bona fides to reassure the social conservatives who, this year, feel marginalized"
Allahpundit over at HotAir picks up on the theme and adds some further thought to the situation.

In both the pieces linked above they also reflect the reality that I have been warning about, there is precious little time in the world of politics meaning 2012 might as well be tomorrow. If you do not want another Dole or McCain,,,etc. as the GOP nominee, make some noise now and contact Pence.

Snooki Knocks Sarah Palin? Really?

Politico - "Jersey Shore" star Snooki might be a fan of Sen. John McCain, but she apparently does not share the same love for the Arizona senator's onetime running mate, Sarah Palin.

The tanned reality star tweeted Wednesday, "Sara Palin has a reality show? ....I'm bored ... maybe ill come stir up some excitement in that Alaskan home.." more

Alright, I am no reality show fan and in fact have never spent more than 15 seconds watching one and that includes Palins show. But I fail to understand this claim to fame by this Snooki person?

Palin has achieved a seat on a City Council, then Mayor, Governor of Alaska, Vice Presidential contender, marriage, Motherhood, Grandmother hood and I am sure I am leaving out something,,oh Beauty contestant. Now that makes for a story if one wishes to hear/see it.

This Snooki person, what the hell has she achieved? I mean besides being a national joke and a very bad ambassador from NJ. Really, who is this person?

A great YouTube ranter, Bob, sums it up for me about Snooki and reality shows in general,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
