VIDEO - One-Stop Shopping; Government Unions (Jackasses) Gone Wild!

This is a compilation of videos from government union protests during the month of February 2011. It helps expose the so-called "tolerance" of the Left.

I Have a Dream,,,,,,,,

I know, "evil rich" right? But please inform me of one,
just one liberal who would deny themself this given the chance!

We can still dream can't we?

Make it a Great Week !

The American Dream? / Open Thread

While drinking my Sunday morning coffee and perusing the daily news and articles of current events I ran across an article titled; 'The Unamerican Dream of the Government Class' on Ricochet, it is a quick and short read but a comment to it by a reader named Good Berean caught my eye,,,,,,,

Good Berean,,,,,

"The problem is that long ago a segment of America traded the American Vision for the American Dream.

The American Vision is the liberal idea of freedom of the individual balanced with the obligations necessary to extend those freedoms within society, under girded by Republican virtues based on religion and morality. The American Dream is one of materialistic individualism guaranteed by a collectivist statism.

By that definition, the American Dream is being challenged by the American Vision, and about time too!"

Have any thoughts on that comment?

CP Friday, Rule #5 - Jewel

Often these days when one hears of the State of Alaska they often think of Sarah Palin and for good reason I might add, but another name immediately comes to this bloggers mind as well - Jewel.

I have always been a fan of Jewel ever since she became nationally known.

I am not one to research people outside of politics unless they step into that particular realm but in Jewels case I am pleased I did as she has one helluva story.

I will just mention a couple of things I at least found interesting and one being she actually does have a political connection, being her Grandfather, Yule Kilcher, was a delegate to the Alaska state constitutional convention and a state senator.

And I am pleased she also has a Michigan connection; Jewel learned to play the guitar while at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan, where she majored in operatic voice. She started writing songs at the age of 16. While at school, she would sometimes play at Ray's Coffee House in Traverse City, Michigan.

Your Camel Breakdown? Time for an Arabic Hybrid, Plus - 'Daily Show' Tortures a Camel

I bet you thought it was going to be electric, didn't you?

Related,,,,The 'Daily Show' tortures a Camel in Madison,WI,,,,,,,

The Weekly Standard - No joke: The Daily Show brought a camel to the protests in Madison the other day, presumably to help make fun of the Cairo/Madison comparisons. As this video shows, the gag didn't turn out so well:

Who knew that an animal indigenous to the Middle East couldn't walk on snow and ice in the Midwest? Local firefighters eventually rescued the camel. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Daily Show didn't use any footage of the camel in its Tuesday night broadcast.

Update: If I'm not mistaken, it appears that Daily Show correspondent John Oliver walks in front of the camera at one point and urges the man shooting the video to turn it off. Censorship!

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

I happened to be listening to Sean Hannitys' radio program yesterday and he posed a question; Does anyone know what a Trillion dollars looks like or what it even means? Then asked all to find out as we might be shocked.

Well it just so happens that my good friend Brian had emailed me on just that subject the day before and I wish to share it as it did indeed shock me. Feel free to share this with any and all PUBLIC UNION employee (for the moment) so they might get a clue as to what we are talking about,,,,,,,

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

All this talk about "stimulus packages" and "bailouts"...A billion dollars...A hundred billion dollars...Eight hundred billion dollars...One TRILLION dollars...

What does that look like? I mean, these various numbers are tossed around like so many doggie treats, so I thought I'd take Google Sketchup out for a test drive and try to get a sense of what exactly a trillion dollars looks like.

We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...

And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this? It's pretty surprising.

Go ahead...

Scroll down...

Ladies and gentlemen... I give you $1 trillion dollars...

(See the guy in the red shirt @ the bottom left? Click to embiggen)

Notice those pallets are double stacked....and remember those are $100 bills.

So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about.

By the bye, it is worth noting that when G.W. Bush left office after 8 years the National Debt was $10.63 Trillion, or that last illustration x 10 and 3/5 .

After just 2 years of Obama the National Debt is $14 Trillion and change or $14,000,000,000,000.00 or that last illustration x 14. This contiues to grow at a rapid pace as even we sleep.

Now if that is not incomprehensible or better said insane enough for you consider that if Obamas budget as proposed were to pass it would necessarily bring our debt to,,,drum roll,,,$25,000,000,000,000.00 by the end of his 4 year term and that does not even include the compounded interest.

I am AGAINST Presidents Day !(Rant)

What the fuck is this shit? Does anyone honestly believe our Founders would approve of such a thought?

If so, go back in history and fucking learn it!

This Nation was born of the People for Christs' sake not any one man and dare any one of us think, celebrate or vote otherwise to disagree.

What will I do on this day? Same as always, work to take care of my family and avoid calls asking me to run for POTUS.

Looks Like Rush Hour to Me,,,,

LOL, The Shoe on the other Foot - Gay hotels investigated for breaching equality laws

This story out of the United Kingdom got me laughing and I am filing it under the "Be careful what you wish for" theme.

By the bye, maybe some of my British friend's can explain to me why the term "Christian hotel" is used in the article as opposed to just a hotel or do you folks have hotels that cater to just Christians?

Haley and Hamas: Haley Barbour's "Partnership" with Islamic Relief

In the wide field of potential and declared candidates for the nomination of the GOP's choice to run for POTUS in 2012 the name of  Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has crept into the limelight as of late.

Noting that fact I wished to know more and what I found almost immediately is disturbing to say the least.

First, I would like to present Gov. Barbour answering a question at a breakfast meeting and using word's we might all agree with,,,,

Did you pay attention to the last part; "Any issue that takes peoples eye off of unemployment, job creation, economic growth, taxes, spending, deficit's, debt's is taking you eye off the ball"

Hmm, just what issue does Mr. Barbour not wish to discuss let alone if he were to get the proverbial 'ball' what would we get,,,,,,,,,

Governor of Mississippi Haley Barbour praises Islamic Relief, less than two weeks after the Israeli government labeled the group a Hamas front and deported Islamic Relief's head of Gaza operations, Ayaz Ali, for "funneling money" to Hamas.

Do your own investigations on all people running as we cannot afford to get this one wrong as it is my strong belief there will be no second chance.

Wal-Mart Security Employees Fired for Disarming Store Gunman

Let's get this right,  DHS Secretary Janet Napalitano wants people at Wal Mart to "say something if they see something" but God forbid an employee or any number of them are to DO anything when presented with a situation where they have little choice but to do so.

Many kudos to these 'former' employee's. And to Wal Mart, well you people should be ashamed of yourselves and have now added another reason I will never enter any of your stores.

Aol News/David Lohr - Four Wal-Mart employees have been fired after management said they violated company policy by disarming an alleged shoplifter who had pulled a gun inside the store.

Lori Poulsen, Justin Richins, Shawn Ray and Gabriel Stewart were all longtime workers at Wal-Mart's Layton, Utah, store. Poulsen was an asset protection coordinator, Richins and Ray were asset protection associates, and Stewart was an assistant manager.

On Jan. 13, employees allegedly witnessed a man identified as Trent Allen Longton take a netbook computer out of the package and stuff it under his shirt. When Longton attempted to leave the store, he was confronted by Poulsen, who escorted him to a nearby office. The two were joined there by Ray, Richins and Stewart, Salt Lake City's Deseret News reported.

Inside the office, Longton allegedly pulled out a loaded handgun and ran toward the office door, which was blocked by Ray, Richins and Stewart. Longton then allegedly grabbed Stewart and shoved the gun into his back. Concerned for their safety, the workers reacted forcefully and disarmed Longton.

In the police incident report, the investigating officer noted that the Wal-Mart employees acted in the "best interest and safety" of those around them. Longton, as it turned out, was a convicted felon who was prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Wal-Mart managers, however, disagreed. The following week, the four workers were fired for violating the company's "Investigation and Detention of Shoplifters Policy." The policy instructs employees to retreat if an individual brandishes a weapon.

"If during an approach or investigation, it becomes apparent that the suspect has a weapon or brandishes or threatens use of a weapon; all associates must disengage from the situation, withdraw to a safe position, and contact law enforcement," reads a copy of the policy available online. "If at any point the suspect or any other involved person becomes violent, disengage from the confrontation, withdraw to a safe position and contact law enforcement."

The next paragraph instructs employees to "put people first," stating that protecting the physical well-being of "suspects, customers and Wal-Mart associates is your first priority."

Speaking with the Deseret News last week, the dismissed employees said they had nowhere to go and were forced to subdue the suspect when he charged them. They also said they were not comfortable allowing an armed man into the store area where shoppers could be at risk.

Wal-Mart did not immediately respond to a request for comment today from AOL News.

In a previously released statement obtained by The Deseret News, managers defended their actions, saying the four put their safety "and potentially the safety of our customers and other associates in jeopardy."

Stewart, who had been with Wal-Mart for 12 years, told the newspaper he is still trying to understand the company's decision.

"I honestly felt worse than when I had the gun to my back," he said. "I honestly felt betrayed."

Mexican Military Incursion News Video

I have had about enough of this corrupt third-world country and I am not even close to our Southern boarder. If it's not illegals and drug cartels it's their government. They are just testing the water so-to-speak and I say we make that proverbial water really HOT.

This is nothing less than a invasion, small yes, but a military invasion nonetheless that has been preceded by others. I say fire at will be it on the ground, in the air or the target(s) be in the water. No apologies, no condolences and definitely NO COMPENSATION.

Furthermore I say we, the U.S. stop purchasing Mexico's oil and reward Canada those extra sales (if we refuse to drill for our own) being Canada is already our biggest supplier, this would cut-off further funding to their military and it's corrupt command and control structure.

The Cee Lo Green Budget

While perusing the news I ran across the above title of an article (partially embedded below) at the WSJ and had to laugh a bit as that is exactly what I was thinking yesterday reading about Hussein's budget.

Stephen Moore does a better job at breaking down the budget proposal and that portion of the video below ends at about the 4:38 mark but there is also some unrelated but interesting data presented on weather afterward's.

WSJ Senior Economics Writer Stephen Moore breaks down the President's spending and taxing plans. Also, Anne Jolis, editorial writer for WSJ Europe, has the surprising data on extreme weather events.

The Cee Lo Green Budget
The cynical and unrealistic White House budget..

This was supposed to be the moment we were all waiting for. After three years of historic deficits that have added almost $4.5 trillion to the national debt, President Obama was finally going to get serious about fiscal discipline. Instead, what landed on Congress's doorstep on Monday was a White House budget that increases deficits above the spending baseline for the next two years. Hosni Mubarak was more in touch with reality last Thursday night.,,,

This $3.73 trillion budget does a Cee Lo Green ("Forget You," as cleaned up for the Grammys) to the voter mandate in November to control spending.,,,more here @ the WSJ

Well the House of Representatives GOP majority had better stand in unison and give a collective Cee Lo Green right back to the White House as that is what we the People said and did back in November,,,(encore for Cee Lo on CP)

My Type of Church with no Walls - Would you Fail?

Ok, Most know that I am Christian and a reformed Roman Catholic and I am not one to proselytize but I wish to offer the following if not just for fun but also information as it just may save your life,,,,,,,

I myself do not go around preaching to others as that is not my call.  However, I give credit to such a man as above in engaging and challenging people no matter their 'belief system'.

I am sure if I got up on that box to speak with this man I would fail the test,,would you?

To those of you who happen to be Catholic and have conversed with me I wish that you link to the 2nd video as this same man explains in short detail what I know to be true

Cryoseisms (or Frost Quakes) ? News to Me,,,,

It is said that one learns something new everyday and this story/phenomenon is certainly one that I myself would file under; 'Things previously unknown to me'.

I have lived in snow country, Michigan,  my entire life and have extensive familiarity on the ground in Canada, a nation known for ice and cold, due to my family ties there and over 46 years of life have never previously heard of 'Frost Quakes'.

This is interesting at least to myself being a 'global warming' skeptic as the descriptions I have found do not support that cockamamie claim.

After blizzards and travel chaos, now 'frost quakes' are rattling the nerves of Ohio residents

First there were the blizzards and the freezing winds - now residents in several states are having to deal with a new natural disaster: 'frost quakes'.

The rare phenomenon - which occurs when temperatures drop rapidly and cause ground moisture to violently expand and contract - can be as damaging to building foundations as their more violent relatives earthquakes.

Residents in Ohio and Indiana felt the power of a frost quake first-hand on Thursday, as the cryoseismic activity shook their houses and rattled their nerves.,,,,,,
Read more; Mail Online

Researching to find out more about Cryoseisms I found this short but informative description of the geological phenomenon out of the State of Maine, Dept. of Conservation.

I would be most grateful to hear if any person reading this has ever experienced these 'Frost Quakes' and share your thoughts and stories about them.

CP Jukebox - Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker (w / Note to Fredd)

These homegrown Detroit boys are beginning to grow on me. When I say "grow on me" I mean they are maturing.

I have had in the past heated debates on both these guys with my brother-in-law (he is younger than I by a decade) not as to their talent but rather content of their songs and style for that matter.

It should be of no surprise to any person who might follow this site on occasion that I am in no way, shape or form am a  fan of 'rap' no matter whose mouth it spews from as I believe it is alien to the human ear and that is where each of these guys started hence the heated debates with my bro.

I always knew they could do better and well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Believed in God and believed in me" shit, that's why I said "I do" to my Bride !
And since then that's exactly why I believe this,,,,,,,,

There are many battles to be fought but never forget who you are and why you fight, what your parents taught you and to stay true to those ideals and your loved ones and friend's for you are indeed Good to be You!

Editor's / Detroit Note; To Fredd of Fredd Spews; I am not sure if you heard about the idea of a statue idea for Detroit of 'Robocop' but I hate to blow your bubble as it was a joke and it will never be erected, Thank God.

I Have a Beef - Blogging Comments

I tend to surf the blogshpere in Conservative/Libertarian political circles and am dismayed by what I would deem hypocrisy, being most if not all blogs I visit portend to support the 1st Amendment.

I am speaking about the comment sections of several blog's (and you know who you are) where one leaves a comment but waits for "approval".

Now I and other's appreciate these post's but at the same time enjoy the idea of the free-flow of idea's and communication. With this "Wait for Approval" the latter ideal is completely hindered and rubs the wrong way against the very idea of free speech.

Some of us have limited time due to work and other schedules but at the same time would like to exchange ideas in relatively real-time and this is impossible with the way you set-up your comment section.

I completely understand why you have done this but at the same time I know for a fact there is a way to stop unwanted comments in your absence yet continue the free-flow of conversation and ideas.

When I started blogging I knew my opinion and thoughts may prove to be controversial to some and bring on opposition which in fact it did. I have no problem with opposing thought so long as it is not vulgar or racist or a personal attack on other commenter's. At the start I had a few, repeat had, that did those very thing's.

There are many ways in your Blogger account to monitor your site  but I advise an outside, on line service. It is at some minimal expense (Google it as I do not advertise) but well worth it being you can indeed back your support for the 1st Amendment, express your thought's and keep the trolls at bay.

Other than that,,,Have a Nice Day!

My Thoughts on the Tribute to President Ronald Reagan (Short and Sweet)

I remembered,
I laughed,
I cried,
I longed,
I saluted,
I honored,
and I prayed.

May God hold you in the palm of His hand,
Happy 100th Birthday President Reagan and Thank You!

Big Ice, Big Rocks & Big Trees - Natures Superbowl, AWESOME Yosemite

Nature itself is wondrous and awesome and can be best viewed in action and in a big way at Yosemite National Park.

I have not yet had the pleasure of visiting the park but after viewing these video's it is on the top of my list of things to do!

Grab a snack and a refreshment turn up the volume a tad and suggest using the "Full Screen" option as well.

Frazil Ice
( No, I had not heard the term before either but you will have a craving for a Slurpee )

Rock Fall
( A Hard Hat will not help here, this should be called 'Mountain Fall' ! )

The Video That Started the Egyptian Revolution

Sound's about right to me but let's pray they get those rights and not be fooled by the "Brotherhood" for if they are those rights will never materialize.

Head-Banging Talent from Greece; Andreas Skapetis - Way Out (Instrumental)

I was sent a video describing a promising talent/guitarist from Greece that is "kick ass".

Now knowing the situation in Greece and not withstanding that, their culture I was somewhat skeptical to say the least.

I was wrong (yes, I said it) to be skeptical, at least in my opinion.

If you enjoy rocking electrical guitar please take the time to view/hear this,,out of Greece,,,,

Egypt Unleashed - MUST SEE VIDEO !!!!!!!!! / Open Thread

This video below is but 5 minutes and 47 seconds in duration but would seem an eternity for the violence that is displayed in it on the streets of Cairo.

The Palestinians have lost their place in being the rock-throwing champions of the Middle-East, the Egyptians now own that title and brought it to a whole new level by tearing up the very streets they walk on to produce the rocks, then have them rain down on their opposition's head's,,,,,,,,,

Priorities - Bill seeks to let one-armed people use switchblades

From the Lewiston Sun-Journal,,,,

Mexico, Maine — A local lawmaker has proposed a bill to allow one-armed people to have and carry switchblade knives.

State Rep. Sheryl Briggs, D-Mexico, said Friday that she's asking Maine to comply with a federal law that allows individuals with one arm to own or carry any switchblade knife with a blade of 3 inches or less.

Obviously, people with just one arm cannot open anything but that type of a blade, that type of a knife,” she said. “So all we're asking is for the people with one arm to be exempt.”

Now I am all for this but does a democrat from Maine of all places think one-armed people do not listen to talk radio?

If you are in the State of Maine and see a one-armed individual whip out a switchblade at a Walmart, defiantly SAY SOMETHING!
