I am very tired as a conservative of going through this bullshit called a "Republican Primary" only to see a RINO nominated.
This shit, RINO's, plus actual self-described socialists, Marxists, Communists, Keynesian's, Islamofaciasist sympathizers,,you get the idea who actually win. This is why, albeit a brief 8 year interruption of decline beginning in 1980 and ending in 1988, "we the people" find ourselves in the retched state of decay we are in.
The Interruption
The very first vote for POTUS I made as a legal adult was for Ronald Reagan and that was for his 2nd term as I was not old enough at the time for his 1st term. That said, had I attained the age of 18 so as to vote for him then I certainly would have done so without any hesitation whatsoever.
Those who may read this and actually lived in those times will know of my enthusiasm for not only voting for Reagan but also knowing what he said and did was right, not politically 'right', although he was, but actually right due to it was based on conservative ideals. This was and is historically true be it economics to national defense and yes patriotism.
When Reagan was running for his second term I knew for a fact that I, my family and many others were doing and living much, much better in the America that he was leading during his previous/current term.
A Personal Story
I do not "come from money". That said, my family was hit with hard times due to my Mom falling ill and then to add insult to injury the "we the people" elected a fucking peanut farmer, Jimmy Carter. Needless to say shit went downhill and fast on a national scale and of course in our own homes to and including my Dad being unemployed.
Mom passed January 19, 1979. Dad was grieving as we all were (2 older brothers) but we all knew the "show must go on".
Long story short, by the time I was voting for Reagan's 2nd term (age 18) I was already paying the mortgage on the house my parents bought but at the same time provided me a roof and the opportunity to give much deserved relief to my personal hero, my Dad.
Obvious or Anecdotal?
My answer to that would be obvious.
I am sure there are attitudes, circumstances or stories that would differ from mine but I argue that my story or similar of others be they American, or for that matter foreign, are very abundant at least until George Herbert Walker Bush, Reagan's RINO V.P. who took office afterward.
Since that time conservatives have been abandoned in the Republican Party even though Reagan not only stood for, but actually in modern times, proved conservatism works for everyone. I again point to history on this - not one but two landslide elections in Reagan's favor and dare say both American's and the worlds as well. One could argue it was for "the man" and his demeanor but those with knowledge know better, people in general vote with a mind toward personal economics with an eye towards National defense, the latter to protect the former and the American promise of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happieness.
Sure Reagan, or any president for that matter, surrounds themselves with advisor's but they do so normally with those that advance their own ideals so as to advance their agenda.
Exit Question
Considering my last sentence above and very true story previous to it I ask;
Do you believe that under a RINO or even God forbid worse a 2nd Obama term, this could be achieved by a current 16-18 year-old?
Your answer decides this years election.
Watch if you will below and see and hear very similar themes, albeit different names and places, that may strike a very similar chord from the only conservative POTUS in my life.
The year 1992, the venue GOP Convention, the Keynote speaker former 2-term United States President Ronald Reagan.
- Perinent part 0 - 20:40 mark (I know long but well worth it) -
My God in Heaven, does the United States that we live in today not have such an individual and above all patriot such as Reagan to step up to the plate?
Romneycare (read no repeal), Newts' Moon bases (read more spending), Santorum (read no popular vote) and Paul (read WTF?)

Hear, hear!
Reagan was over 80 years old when he gave this speech. In his wisdom, he told us what America is and should be. Now look at the mess we've got!
A great 20 minutes in that first part of the footage.
A
Was this Reagan's last great speech? If so, then he left us with a legacy that we should be paying attention to now.
No exaggeration: the speech gives me goosebumps.
There were a lot of statements made by him that still reverberate today Example: "There are those who believe America is weak.... that America purpose has pasted, My Friends, I utterly reject those views"!!!!
It appears this way today, but it's savoir is the American people and there power of the vote.
Reagan never let himself to be pulled to the left, unlike those after him. We did in some aspect pull Clinton to the center.
Obama will never let himself be pulled to the center, thats why this is the most important election in our nations history. Todays Democrat party is filled with Saul Alinsky's and only a sustain and sound trouncing of the party, like in 2010, will they ever wake up to why Americans love Reagan.
No teleprompter needed when the words come from the heart and soul of freedom.
Nuff said!
The establishment RINO Republicans hated him as they hate us today. Well, they had better get used to us. We're not going away!
RE AOW,,,
I am glad the speech affected you the same way it did me, just as it did when Pres. Reagan first gave it.
I believe it was his last major speech and I completely agree with you, all should be paying attention, close attention, to his wise words.
RE Mark Adams,,,
"There were a lot of statements made by him that still reverberate today"
Exactly! And I believe you, I and others so it seems believe his statements always will as they were and are based on founding principles.
Lets throw in a world famous quote to describe Reagan's words (in any of his speeches);
"We find these truths to be self evident"
RE amanofwonder,,,
I completely and utterly agree!
RE Odie,,,
Unfortunately I have to agree with your comment as well.
One has to wonder what it is about the history of this nation, the complete and unmistakable history of economics and the clear mood of the American people that the GOP does not understand?
The other party is clueless but the party of Lincoln?
I'm very pessimistic we get a real candidate anytime soon. The republicans have proven their uselessness, and in GW Bush's case - their capacity for big government expansion policies as well.
Ron and Michele were the only conservatives running and the media has destroyed both of them.
Somehow the dems with their media arm have gotten extremely good at playing this game.
And let's face it. Most people don't have the capacity to come to reasonable conclusions, since the politicians need incredible amounts of money to get votes through advertising, attack ads, etc. I was able to decide I wanted Michele or Paul before the first ad was run, based on their voting records.
They've turned the whole process into a soap opera and people respond to it.
Personally I think we're screwed until we hit rock bottom, then how long will it take to rise up again if at all.
This started in 1963, Or FDR if you prefer, and we haven't made any progress to dismantle the communist agenda yet. We've only gone downhill. To the point that as a country, we actually vote in someone who didn't even freakin work at McDonalds..
RE Kid,,,
As to your list of conservatives I would add Herman Cain (who met the same fate) and count Ron Paul as half a one, no offense intended just my opinion.
I agree on the media to be sure and they along with the current administration are doing their damnedest to if not just to limit alternative media (blogs, twitter, facebook and alike) but shut it down altogether or at least views such as ours.
I am a tad more optimistic (to a point) on the future based on the American people waking up due to reality hitting them squarely on their heads.
One or million's can listen to the Bill Mahers out there all they want, but when after 3 years of promised "hope and change" they have no job (being laid off or just out of school), no income, lost their home to foreclosure and some even losing their families,,well these things happen to change minds be it reality or anger or both.
A dream ticket would be to wipe the slate clean and just nominate Thomas Sowell for POTUS and Art Laffer as VPOTUS, if they would agree to run. Could you just imagine the debates!!!!
Christopher, I have no problem with other's opinions. I put mine out for consideration only. :)
