Well Justice Roberts has put the final nail in the coffin of the U.S. today and Ed Morrissey of HotAir I believe sums up the meaning of this decision,,,,
"After months and months of focusing on Anthony Kennedy as the weak link in the conservative chain at the Supreme Court, it turns out that Chief Justice John Roberts was the one the Right needed to fear. With the more centrist Kennedy dissenting, Roberts signed off on the individual mandate in ObamaCare, not as part of Congress’ power under the Commerce Clause, or even the ludicrous reference to the “Good and Welfare Clause” from some Democrats, but from the more mundane and substantial power to tax. The opinion actually ruled that the mandate violates the Commerce Clause, but as a tax that no longer matters.
It’s an interesting argument, but one that should have Americans worried. Basically, this is a tax that you have to pay to private companies. For all of the screaming the Right did over single-payer — and for good, outcome-based reasons — at least the taxes raised to fund it would go directly to government. The Supreme Court has signed off on what is, in very practical terms, a tax levied by the insurance industry on Americans simply for existing. It’s an amazing, and fearsome, decision that really should have both Right and Left horrified.
Nevertheless, this is the law of the land. We can now look forward to taxes levied by the auto industry for not having bought a new car in the last seven years, the liquor industry for buying too few bottles of wine to maintain your health, and by the agricultural industry for not buying that damned broccoli after all. We might even have Obama attempt to impose a tax for not buying enough contraception; we can call that the Trojan tax.,,,,"
This may be a victory for Obama but certainly it cannot be described as such for the American people or our economy that is already at best anemic. The stock market is taking a hit as I type and can only imagine what future job number reports look like.
Great job there Justice Roberts?

NOvember!
Founding Fathers, we are sorry that we lost what you gave us.
We'll take it back, by any means necessary!
This is a declaration of war... Our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor... At all costs, failure is not an option...
John Roberts is a backstabbing POS!
Roberts was a big surprise here. I don't perceive the details but it sure smells dirty. I agree with Kennedy, oblabbycare is 100% unconstitutional. It is a government grab of an entire private industry.
Well 70% of America was against obamacare at the start. I can't believe that number has gotten smaller.
I like this from the aspect that it will motivate people to the ballot box who might not have gone and that this thing needs total repeal, not just a fluffing.
I hate it from the precedent that was set which is government can force people to buy anything as long as they call it a tax.
Here's my idea. Let's force Everyone to buy a gun, for their own protection don't ya know. And if they don't they must to pay extra (a fine) because that will otherwise require more police on the street to take up the slack. Makes perfect Supreme Court Sense.
Oh, and regards the elimination of the Stolen Valor Act, you probably didn't know it but:
*I* a a Senator. I was made one just today! Yea, that's the ticket. AND I'm an important one too. Yea, that's the ticket !
Call it whatever you want to, but in reality it’s just another tax for the taxpayers. Do you think that the lazy BUM’S on welfare, and the cheats who don’t even pay any income tax’s will to pay anything. I guess that the more lazy and worthless you are, the more freebies Obama gives you!
So don't tell me or anyone else about Bush any more!
All I can say to you Progressives who can't find your ass with both hands is Heaven help us because there will be no end to Obama's grab for power now!
It's sickening.....We are now living under a dictatorship regardless of how anyone wants to paint it.
Every one who loves freedom needs to try and talk some sense into every one of you brainwashed Liberals and dump this unAmerican traitor in November.
Just a little further. "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." - Declaration of Independence, JULY 4, 1776
